Mounting tires...
Still trying to decide what tires to get. Leaning toward the following...
- Goodyear MTR
- BFG MT KO
- Firestone Destination MT (
SuperView of the Firestone Destination M/T )
Sam's Club has the MTRs (285/70/17) for $225/per. That's the best price I've seen. But they won't mount them - not a standard size.
I know a lot of shops won't mount/install tires/parts that they didn't sell. So, I may be looking for a shop that will do this... any suggestions?
- Mark

Re: Mounting tires...
I got the E rated (blackwal) Firestone Destination MT's & they're GREAT!!
Better traction in virtually all conditions than the other tires...slightly noisier than BFG TA's-But a GREAT ride...

Re: Mounting tires...
Kauffman tire will mount anything.
Did I just say that?
No, really, I took them some old beat up BFG A/t's and they had no problem mounting and balancing them.
My .02, I've heard some complaints while we were on trail (Dawsonville, Cullowhee, etc...) about the MTRs in red clay. I don't know much about the Firestones, but the BFGs seem to do well in this part of the country.
