SE FJs! Lets go Eglin Wheelin

8/22: We are looking at the weekend of September 15-16. I will be camping that Sat at my favorite spot and there's room for more at that site. Check out West Eglin Wheelin Weekend for pictures of the area. There is fuel, motel and RV space available within five miles of the entry spot. PM me and I can get you details.
(Maybe we can convince one of the party to stay behind at the camping spot Sat. evening so I can lead everybody over to East Bay for what is usually an AMAZING sunset with photo ops available on the west facing beach peninsula)

Meet at 11am? Ideas?
Oh, and no you don't have to be military or have base stickers to access the reservation, just a recreational pass, which I have taken care of already (we will all be using mine).

8/24: To answer a few PMs... No, you do NOT have to have a built up FJ for this run. The FJC in stock condition is such a great platform that I have YET to make any running gear changes. But yes, you will be challenged, especially if you are new to off-roading. However there are no places where you will be forced to do something crazy to continue with the run, there is ALWAYS a work around. Just remember, sand sand and more sand with elevation changes. Yeehaw!

9/02: The red X marks the sand pit where we will meet up at 11am on the 15th AND 16th.

9/06: The red X is in a sand pit located 4.9 miles south of the I-10 exit 31 along SR87, and directly under the power lines. The pit is accessed by turning onto the dirt road with a wooden park sign for "Weaver Camp" (in the first bend in the road south of the long bridge)

Baby Doll 13 is supposed to be coming with us Saturday. They might be up for coming back again in September to represent the Sun Fusion FJers.

oh yeah, you can count me in that time too...
finally glad to be able to get in with some crusiers that actually ride

i do have a neighbor with a voodoo blue crusier, maybe i can talk him into getting in also...

I cant say for sure yet.... that might be the 4h weekend in a row that I have gone wheeling out of state.... the wife might be getting mad.

I know she will want to go but I cant ask until she gets back in town on Monday. My wife and kids have been on most of the rides with me and they enjoy it as much as I do. the problem is in the timing with all the other places I have committed to going. If I don't make it this time I will do my best to make the next one.
