Skyline WMA...anyone?

Anyone interested in doing a little trail riding in Northeast Alabama this weekend (Oct. 27)?

The Wildlife Management Area is the same place that I planned a ride back in February (Skyline WMA, Alabama - Feb. 24)

Obviously with such short notice this is not going to be an organized trail run. I just got a call from a buddy of mine (dwh84) and he is itching to go try out his XJ project so I thought I would see if anyone else was going to be available this weekend.

If MK's Halloween Party falls thru, we can make it.

And after the ride maybe we can head back over to Lynchburg for the
Jack Daniel's Bar B Que cook off, nothing like free food.

Gonna hit the trail about 10 AM.

If my bro can get my new square driveshaft welded up today I'll be taking my 40 out for the first time SOA!

I would be interested. This isn't to far of a drive for me. Do you think my stock tires will get me through. I have not banked enough cash to get the BFG's yet.

A stock FJ will be fine at skyline. I would be there myself if I didn't have family tickets for the aquarium in Atlanta this weekend.
Remember to take lots of pics!

I got my FJC last October and wheeled at Skyline WMA for months in stock form.

However, some of the trails we plan to take on Saturday might be a little much for a stock FJ. Most of the rigs going this weekend are built for a beating. I'll be planning an organized ride on the WMA later this year and I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of FJC's show up for that.

If you still want to go this weekend let me know. There is basically only one trail I wouldn't advise that you take in a stock FJ. You could park and ride up it with me. The trail loops back around to where you would park. Since it's a WMA people park trucks/SUV's/atv's all the time because they are out bow-hunting so I don't think anyone would mess with it.

Either way it's your call. If you think it's something you might be interested in you can shoot me a PM and we can trade cell #'s.

Thanks for the info. I'll just join you guys later in the year for the FJC ride. I do have a lift and rock rails but no skids or tires so some of these trails you guys will be going on might be a little to much for the (dunlops). Hopefully sometime towards the end of the year or first of next year the Bud Builts and BFG's will be going on. You guys have fun and post some good pics!

We are not going to be able to make it, it looks like the Halloween Party is on for now.
