Re: Shotgun Sands!

Paul you aren't gonna build us up and leave us hanging? Don't blame Maria either...everyone wants to ride this weekend...Richard was first to request Saturday afternoon so I think if possible you should honor that. You even offered a video to further entice us. Come on Paul...Saturday afternoon?

Re: Shotgun Sands!

I think I can get out of O-town after 9AM was thinking about scouting north Ocala but I could be coaxed into one of Paul's Secret spots.

Isn't Atrac great?

Yeah sure is, but I also did it without A-Trac. Momentum and non-mud tires was a bigger key to get up these hills.
You said it, Paul. Nice vid. For the most part ATrac is the anti-Christ of good traction in deep sand. That, and deeply lugged mud-terrain tires because they tend to grab, dig, and remove the very sand that you are trying to 'float' on top of. Combine the two and you have a vehicle that is working WAY harder for the same return in distance traveled. It's rock and packed surfaces that ATrac is in it's element. And boy does it SHINE then.

I think we went at this before didn't we.... lol

I disagree that A-Trac is the Anti-Christ in sand! And I disagree that using A-Trac slows the FJC down, or makes it work harder in deep sand.

I usually use A-Trac when first climbing a sandy hill and only go without using it just for fun!
