1st Official Olde North State Cruiser TLCA meeting

Please take the time to come to the first "official" TLCA meeting of the Olde North State Cruiser TLCA meeting.

Jan 13th @3 pm, Champs Restaurant and Sports Bar, Durham NC in the Southpoint Shopping Center (right off of 40).

These guys have worked hard to meet all the requirements to become an official TLCA club and it would be good to show the support of FJ Cruiser owners in the success and promotion of the Toyota Landcruiser Association.

We ran with some of the BOD at the North meets South part 4 event at Uwharrie and they are a great group to wheel with, happy to see the presence of FJ Cruiser in the off-road community. I know that I'll do everything I can to make this club a success...

I really hope i will be free to make this meeting. It would be nice to join a club and wheel with people who you can learn from. so far, the most i've done with my FJ has been a little mudding and quite a bit of beach driving. i loved mud when i had my wrangler, but now i realize i actually don't really like it. i guess it's because i'm a little older now and am too lazy to wash all the mud off

so, some casual trail driving would be a nice change from the the monotonous beach driving. also, this would be a great way to learn proper spotting and recovery techniques.

speaking of trail driving, my bro-in-law is coming into town around Christmas and he is a long time toyota fan. currently, he's got a 2002(?) Tacoma with 35" BFG MTs, back in dallas. i wanted to take him out to Uwharrie while he is here, but when i looked on the website, it said they close the trails from Dec. 15 to april 1. Tellico may be a little too far for us, anyone know of something closer we may be able try out? looking for something within 2 hours driving distance from the Triangle area.

This group of wheelers are very open and willing to put runs together for all levels of off-roaders. I'm sure everyone will be willing to do what is necessary to get all levels of off-roaders involved.

Sorry, but I don't know of any place closer to do some off-roading that is open at this time. Check the ih8mud website that I linked and ask them the same. There a many locals that may know of some trails that are close enough to have some fun during Christmas...

Bump...and, due to the NFL playoffs, Champs is going to be very busy. They won't take phone in reservations. They know we are coming and will seat us under "Carolina Cruisers", that was easier than Olde North State Cruiser for them to understand.

So, when you go up and request a table, ask to be seated with the Carolina Cruisers and get there early if you can.
