I haven't lived in Atlanta for 10 years, so I can't help you with looking for a place.

But I can tell you that Stone Mountain is awesome. I havn't been there for about 4 years but its a nice place to go. They have a lift that takes you to the top where you can walk around. Its cool stuff. Also the Aquarium is massive. I went there over summer and was shocked at the size of it. Should be a fun trip.

Re: coming to atlanta

It's gonna be cheaper to stay outside of town and drive in to the aquarium. I am north of the city, so not a lot of help from me on where to stay. BMTHiker is from Stone Mountain/Snellville area and might be able to help you find a place. He's on the road today on the way to Katemcy for the Lonestar Land Cruiser Roundup, but if you PM him he might be online some (he has a wireless card).

Re: coming to atlanta

Get to the aquarium early then head to the world of Coke, just around the corner- (its a cool place to see) Should take a half a day to see them both. I believe there are tickets you can purchase for stone mountain for multiple days so I would head there after lunch. Take a stroll around the park then be there for the laser show that nite(cant go to stone mtn. without being there at least 1 nite to see it),then if posible stay close to the park that nite and start there first thing the next morning so you can take in all the park you didnt get to see the day before. Havent been to Stone Mtn. in a few years but its something to see at least once. O and dont forget about the huge park in Valdosta Ga. when your headed to Fl.,I like it better than 6 flags myself. Have Fun Tim

Re: coming to atlanta

Suncruiser,

Are you going to be comming down during the weekend? Is your hotel inside 2-85? Traffic during the week can be pretty bad and if your comming from the north end of 2-85 in the morning or late afternoon life can be hellish . Post a link to where your staying.

Thanks,

Kodek

You can get tix for both the aquarium and world of coke as a package deal. It takes a whole day to see both.
