Durhamtown, GA - New ORV park?

Hey everyone. I just heard from a guy at Southern Offroad in Alpharetta that the bike/atv park in Durhamtown is getting ready to open up a massive truck only trail system in the same area.

Has anyone heard of this?

There is a place about 90 miles due East called Durhamtown Plantation http://www.durhamtown.com/ ... it's multi-use OHV/outdoor "resort" park - motorcycles, ATVs, fishing, shooting, mt. biking, hunting, horsing (yeah, I know) but oddly - NO 4x4s. Perhaps they're expanding?

I responded to a survey about a park opening up in the Augusta, GA area.

That's the exact spot he mentioned. He said they're switching to a 4x4 only model. It's supposed to be awesome.

Re: Durhamtown, GA - New ORV park?

i think this was the guy who had a big problem about 2 years ago about a young boy who was motorcycling on a jump that was pretty big for him and died from a wreck. after that there was big pressure for him to close by lots of folks even though the family and the boy signed waivers. the boys parents didnt want want a close because they understood the risks and the boy was doing what he liked to do.

in all, from a liability standpoint making it 4x4 exclusive would make big sense and for sure fill a need.

That that's funny... 'cause once that baby comes, you're going to have so much free time you won't know what to do.
