Hey guys, new to the FJ, just got mine last week from Thomasville Toyota. They actually had a Trail Teams Special Edition in stock when I went to look at the Titanium 07 so I had to buy it. I love the truck, traded in my '00 Tundra on it and so far haven't looked back.
I've offroaded on ATVs before but am new to full-size off-roading. Anyone else in the Tallahassee area on this forum? If so, do you guys/gals know of any place to ride around here? I'm itching to try this thing out but don't want to get in over my head.
You're gonna love your Cruiser...they are awesome machines! Congratulations!
Why don't you join us next weekend near Perry for the annual Florida Land Cruiser Association run? It is on private property and there are all sorts of trails. Some I wouldn't take the brand new one on but plenty of others. There will be atleast 4 FJ's plus some older models out there. You can always ride with one of us if you don't feel comfortable driving the new one. There will be a lot of recovery going on...we are always able to find obstacles that disable our vehicles.
If you would like to come out even to meet and greet on Saturday contact: Jerry Dixon, President, FLCA. You can e-mail him at flca.org (look for the contacts page) He will give you directions and a map...you will need this!
You also have a great FLCA chapter: Northwest Florida Toyota Land Cruiser Club. Contact rayray57@hotmail.com

Thanks for the warm welcome and info on the local riding areas. I saw the pics from the FLCA and that does look to be well beyond my skill level. It would be fun to watch though and Perry isn't too far away. If my camping trip gets cancelled I'll try to attend - I need to learn recovery for sure.
