Re: Uwharrie (NC) on Saturday morning APR 12

Just woke up And feeling great about to go out and buy some prime for the skids and hopefully install them a little later. I'll probably be leaving my house around 6:30-7:00am tomorrow trying to make it out there by 8-8:30am. Wooohoo I'm pumped.

Sounds like we'll be on the road at the same time. I'll PM you with my mobile #. Call me when you leave and if we're close, we can caravan the rest of the way. I'm planning to take 64west to 49 west/south to 109. Trying to aim for ~8:30 at Eldorado Outpost. I assume there will be lots of trucks wandering about...If I can get it up there securely tonight, I'll have a Hi-Lift Jack on the roof of my white FJ. Hopefully that will help you spot me if the mobiles don't work out there.

PICTURES!!! Uwharrie (NC) on Saturday morning APR 12

Well it was definitely worth the drive. We were way outnumbered by Jeeps and Land Rovers, the conditions got downright scary when it started pouring rain, had a few hang-ups, lost a skid and nearly rolled one...But it sure was fun!!! Can't wait to do it again sometime soon.

...thanks to K_os for sharing his experience and trail guidance with DoWork and me.

Re: Uwharrie (NC) on Saturday morning APR 12

...and the last of the pictures:

It took the string of 13(?) of Rovers about 20 minutes to pass, coming down a fairly nasty drop.
