It was an awesome trip. I'll be back there before too long. Yeah my stock engine skidplate is now my "eat-in-bed" tray. I'd love to go when it's a little drier b/c there was a few instances when I was just drifting down the trails and that wasn't fun, well who am I kidding it was a blast but it scared the living crap out of me.
After yall left the jeepsters ended up doing wolf den, slab pile, dixie bell trail then I went by arrowhead campsite to check it out. Thank you both mark and brent for showing up it was a blast can 't wait for the next time.
This was my first time testing the FJ in some serious situations with the new mods and god did they perform beautifully. I was really surprised to see how the FJ managed some of the obstacles. I was the only IFS rig in the group with the jeepsters and I only needed "coaching/spotting" once and no other sense of assistance in a soupy/drifty uwharrie. We need to do this again guys! Woo. I wish you guys would've stayed it was a blast.
EDIT: We ended up coming down that nasty drop all wet in the end. All I gotta say is thank god for sliders. Used them to the full of their capabilities on that obstacle.

Glad you made it back safely. I'll bet you'll be fully armored underneath for the next trip.

It was terrible when wet... I was riding in my stock FJ and it was a little ridiculus. I made it with no damages/problems however it was a little nerve racking. I would love to go back when its a dust storm

I'll second that. Dust storm sounds good. The rain makes it fun in some respects, but I don't like sliding sideways toward the edge of the trail. Maybe after I have more experience under my belt (and more than 1300 miles on my truck), I'll come to find the joy in that. Definitely like the park though, it's a far more interesting terrain with more challenges than I expected...and I didn't even see the "difficult" trails yesterday.

Quick post with the pics!! The trip was great and i was glad i could make it out. We need to set up a date for another run soon so that ALL of us can go. I leave the end of this month to go back home for the summer but am game to go any time between then. If not their is always next fall. Thanks NRAFJ and K_os for helping me out in the tough spots
I'd be down for a run in the last weekend of april for a test run before GSMTR if I end up making it; I want to make it badly never been to it seems like a lot of fun.. but my schedule is looking pretty crowded we'll see
...I have a friend going out from Raleigh this Sunday. I'm probably not going to make it but I could hook you up with him if you like. He's looking to get his Jeep onto some real trails for the first time. Thought I would offer in case you're itchin to get out there before K_os get's his belly re-armored.
