Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Jack (Jaxtoy),
When I decide on my suspension lift I will take you up on your offer to help install it. By the way you have several cameo's in the new DVD-Desert Sun "2007 Thrill on the Hill". I received my DVD about a week ago. Call and talk to Brandon at Desert Sun if you have not received your DVD by now (505-437-7530) When it cools down here I'm looking at getting a few us FJ's together do some of the trails. I will keep you posted, chris

Dan (NMVoodooFJ),
I have not had a chance to go out and find some areas for us play yet. Been real busy here on the Forest as of late. When time permits I will be out scouting a few places for us to go play. I will be in touch, chris

Abqfriend,
Thanks for sharing the info on where you had your lift installed. Perhaps we could meet on weekend down south here and do some of the trails in the FJ's. I will be in touch with you, chris

FiremedicPQ1,
Glad to here that you received your DVD and I believe your vehicle made a cameo as well? At some point when it cools down we all need a little informal gathering to either hit some trails or have some cold ones. Thanks for checking in, chris

Re: 4Wheel Parts Lifts

Chris,
I did get the alignment done right after. Also, 4Wheel Parts does a free post install inspection. I had it done right before the FJ Summit but didn't get my larger tires until a few weeks ago.
BTW, the Thrill dvd was great and nice to see you got a special thanks. Nice idea and great trails. Its cool to see the Thrill be so successful and organized its first year. At the Summit they had grill badges made, I vote for trying to have some made and definitely stickers done.
Take care. - Tomas

Hey TomasMas, glad to hear that you got your OME lift. I have not decided on which lift at this time to put on. By the way did you get an alignment done after the lift? I need to call 4 Wheel Parts in Albuquerque and get some prices from them. Hey thanks for sharing, chris

Tomas,
Your FJ is coming together nicely! Thanks for the info about 4Wheel Parts. I have not decide on my lift as of yet, but it should be done before the end of the year. Glad you liked the DVD "Thrill on the Hill". chris

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Hey Kids, Craze here. I live out by Quemado Lake. I have had my FJ for about 10 months. I am currently in the middle of my build-up. I was wondering if any of you could recommend someone in Albuquerque to mount and balance my Walker Evans beadlock wheels and the MTZ's. I would like to get them road force balanced, but that may be too much to ask.

While I'm at it...I want to thank everybody for all of the knowledge and wisdom contained here on this Forum...it has been an invaluable tool for me in the build-up of my FJ. Thanks Again

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Crazyhermit,
I was near Quemado Lake this last weekend (near Red Hill, stayed at the Largo Motel). Wow, your list of after market products is nice. How do you like the OEM lift? I don't get to Albuquerque often so I can't recommend a good tire shop. Perhaps 4Wheel Parts can help you out. Thanks for posting on this thread. chris

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

I found this trail near T or C.
About.com: http://www.webejeepin.com/Trails/New_Mexico/Monticello_Canyon.htm
I've never been there but the canyon looks cool.
That site also has other trails around the state. The only one I've been through is the Cedro Peak Trail.

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

505FJ,
I have been down this trail once so far and it was a blast (I lost count after 40 some crossings). I plan on getting some FJ's together to do this trail in Monticello Canyon, but the weather needs to cool down and the sky needs to clear. I have been told that during the monsoon season that canyon can fill up to three feet of water in places. I was in the canyon about a month ago and the water was up to 18 to 24 inches in places and it was flowing pretty good. I will keep you posted when I get this FJ trail run put together. chris

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Hey guys, I'm planning on going to Moab in October. Plan is to leave after work on the 11th and wheel on the 12th,13th,14th coming back on the 15th. Moabrat a few others are expected to be there. Anyone up for going? If not lets get together some weekend and wheel. Firemedic and I went out west of Albuquerque a couple of months ago, it was fairly challenging, we need to put something together. Let me know!!!
