Hope I can make the run to Tank Trap at the end of the month. I was out that way this morning.
Good News to share, today I was chosen as the first New Mexican for the New Mexico "Above the Line" Pilot Film Training program. I will be training with the Production Manager of the tv series "Crash". Its shooting in Albu and Rio Rancho and stars Dennis Hopper. I am so lucky I just had to share.
Tomas
Dude working with Dennis , it doesn't get any better than that. Ya got to get me an autographed picture.

I found this small message on a news letter that I recieve, and thught it would be appropraite to share with you all, Have a great holiday weekend!
Sean

I assume like most Americans you're getting ready to celebrate our country's birthday this Friday. Like Memorial Day, the 4th of July is more than just a day for beach trips, discount sales and BBQ's. It offers all of us an opportunity to stop for a moment and reflect on all our blessings as a nation and to reflect also upon the strength of character that makes this country great. As you break out the charcoal remember especially the sacrifices our fellow Americans in and out of uniform have made to ensure it remains the home of the free.
Great point, all to often we take for granted the freedoms we enjoy, but tend to forget the sacrafices that have taken place to keep this great country free. So I say "Thanks and God Bless" to those who have sacraficed their time, lives and energy to keep this country safe. Also to the families that have been involved. Remember "freedom" comes with a price and sometimes that price is the ultimate sacrafice....Life.

Man that is awesome. I heard he has a ranch out near Ojito.

Congratulations Tomas. That sounds like a great opportunity.

Front Bumper

Hey does anyone want a stock FJ front bumper and a spare tire cover in the Albuquerque area? I replaced mine with the ARB when it was new, and have had the old one lying around the garage. Anyhow, I need to get rid of it, so anyone who wants it can have this stuff for free, first person to ask has dibbs. let me know.

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

So I was in NM this past Holiday weekend visiting family and pick up some furniture we bought. I saw a good number of FJs in the Las Cruces area. We were in our Blue Voodoo towing a small 5x8 Uhaul trailer. I flashed the lights at each one I saw, and only got one response back

-Blue Voodoo on I-10 heading east between El Paso and Las Cruces afternoon of July 3rd.
-Blue Voodoo on Hwy 70 heading East on the afternoon of July 3rd.
-Black Cherry on the Lohman over pass on the afternoon of July 3rd.
-A Sun Fusion and a Brick traveling together on I-10 heading east just east of Las Cruces afternoon of July 4th.

Any of you guys? Dang I love NM, and miss LC, especially La Posta. Ate lunch there and had to bring back a couple of pints of the salsa...

Cypher,
It was not me, but it may have been Dan in his Voodoo Blue? I like La Posta too! Great place to have Lunch or Dinner. Thanks for checking in with the NM Crew. Chris

If one of the VDB's had blacked wheels and grill, then it was probably Dan. He was probably the one who returned the salute.

I went to college at NMSU and loved the city of Las Cruces. It was too hot for me though. La Posta is great. We usually stop there when in town.

Hey Dan, when are you leading a trail run in Las Cruces?

I was thinking in the Fall. It is still to hot down here. The monsoons season has started here so we will see how bad the trails become.

We still doing the tank trap at the end of the month. Sunday would be good for me. That wy I can get some of bumper and the other stuff on, on Saturday.

-Dan-

Oh ya anyone here from George..... on his rig?

Yes, the Tank Trap run is still on as far as I know. Sunday July 27th works fine for me.

Who else is going on the Tank Trap run?

I would like to leave Albuquerque/Rio Rancho by 8:00am, be to the air down spot by 9:30 and on the trail by 10:00. I expect it to rain so the earlier we leave the better. If anyone needs to leave later, let me know.
