I've got a rough country 3" lift, Man-A-Fre sliders, Goodyear MT/R's in a 285-70-17 and a stereo system. I go out to the Rio Puerco quite often with a group of Jeeps.

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Last week, my wife and I took the FJ out to White Mesa (about 5 miles east of San Ysidro, NM) and took in some awesome moutain biking action...

I had previously posted a short report w/ a photo of wheeling in the San Pedro Mountains in Santa Fe County last month, in a different part of the forum: New Mexico wheeling

That's about 35 miles from Alb on Hwy 550 thru Bernalillo like you are going to Jemez.

No 4WD allowed on the trails... only one wheel drive pedal powered bikes...

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Kevin's Corral,
How do you like the Rough Country 3" lift. I will probably lift mine sometime in the next few months but I have not decided on which lift to buy. The lift looks good on your FJ. Perhaps sometime I could arrange to meet up with you in Albuquerque. chris

I like it. It's like riding a lazy boy on wheels. The suspension is still nice and compliant for rock crawling articulation.

I'd be more than happy to show you it if you're in town.

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

I spend a lot of time in NM (in fact, typing this near the ABQ airport right now).

Are there any good 4-wheel shops worth checking out?

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Desert Rat Racing on San Mateo north of Montgomery is pretty cool. They've done a couple lifts and bumpers on some local FJ's.
