Hey I'm here in ABQ too. I have been reading and gleaning from this forum for months, and finally decided to join.
My girlfriend tells me she is jealous of my FJ as I am somewhat obsessed with mods, as I can get the time to get them done. Its really looking great, I will post some pictures soon. The ARB bullbar w/winch, All-Pro Sliders, PIAA & IPF lights and the full Donahoe lift w/the bling Aluminum UCA's have been the most dramatic mods I've made to date. Have also been running 285/70 BFG Revos, and wow what a great snow tire w/o sacrificing highway ride/noise issues!
I have been spending this wet snowy winter just loving my truck. Gave up my 96 landcruiser last summer unwillingly, but have be delighted with my FJ.
I pulled an F-250 4x4 out of deep snow two weeks ago on Cuba Mesa. Wish I had taken my camera.
Please let me know If anyone is interested in meeting to go offroading anywhere in the region. Already registered with accomodations for Uuray in July.
Hey abqfriend,
Apparently not many of us from NM on this forum. My 2nd or 3rd post. I've seen several FJ's around ABQ. I haven't had much of a chance to explore the limits of this beast since purchasing it in late December. Only mods have been to install the Bandi mount for the CB and replaced the stock running boards w/ OEM rock sliders.
Kevin
I don't live in NM, but work there 5 weeks every year...mostly around Las Vegas and up to Taos. Havn't seen an FJ on my last trip, but lookin forward to the summer.

Joe, what time of year do you work "here" (Taos, LV)? Maybe we can scare a NM FJ's for a run or two?
Nice to see that some locals participate here on this forum. I would like to set up a regular happy hour time once a month or so for Albuquerque area FJ Owners to get together for a beer and maybe compare rigs and mods, even to discuss ones only being contemplated. I have friends who get together weekly at Billy's Longbar on San Mateo, as I don't like franchise chains, but this is just a suggestion. Anyone like the idea?
BTW, I just ordered an Amsteel blue winchline to replace the heavy steel cable. Thought loosing the weight alone it might pay for itself.
I am up in Bloomfield/Navajo Lake area alot, as my family have ranches on the San Juan. Some really great 4 wheeling areas on leased land my family uses for cattle grazing. Are you going to Ouray in July?
