Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

I just signed up for the Summit - now if Brandon would put up the site for the Thrill... So, here's the deal on my rig - I replaced the rear links today and they are great, I added the mini skids too. Problem is, the extension arms for the swaybars come down pretty far and are what caused the damage in the first place to the stock links. So, I tried to replace them with the stocks, and they were at a very acute angle and rubbed against the bud builts - I put the Skyjacker back on and went for a short hop. They hit on the links again, but no damage. So, it looks like I am going to have to go a different route. I will call Skyjacker tomorrow as well. I may be out of heavy duty wheeling for a bit. Just an update.

Paul,
Are you referring to the lower links in the rear? I replaced my rear lower links a while back with All-Pro's Ulimate rear lower links with skids and no problems. But I'm running the All-Pro skids and not the Bud Built skids and its hard to believe that they would be hitting on the rear sway bar links. I hope you get it figured out. Just registered for the Summit, so we will have to get all the NM FJ'ers at the Summit. I will try to get a hold of Brandon to see when the his registration will be posted. chris

I thought the stock links would have worked, I saw a few people were having that same problem, you might do a search to find them, they may already have a solution. Hope you figure it out.

I just signed up for the Summit. I'm really looking forward to getting up to the area again. I know I'll be up in the San Juans as soon as the snow melts. My wife and I are headed to Moab in two weeks just to knock around for a few days.

Give FinsNThings a try, pretty mellow but alot of fun. Also Hells Revenge is not bad, people make it out worse than it is, just because of Hell's gate which you don't have to do. Of the two Fins is mellower. Have fun.

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

Dan,
Still trying to locate the hood I'm told, so perhaps another two weeks. I was told that when the parts come in they will need 10 days to assemble and paint. I will let you know more when I talk to them tomorrow. Are you going to the Summit in Colorado in July? chris

Re: New Mexico FJ'ers

This is kinda late notice, but the mother in law is comming into Albq Friday from Ohio, and mentioned after seeing some pic's, she would like to see some of the southwestern sights out in the Rio Puerco. If we go it would be on sunday. If anyones intrested in what would probably be a short and mild Puerco run post up and we can decide times.

I can't make it. It looks like I won't be able to make the snow run on the 3rd either.
