Hawaii Fjs Outing #1

Well, four of us here from the Hawaii section of the forum decided to have a get-together. We met up at Cholos in Haleiwa at about 10:00am.

The guys who showed were: Myself (Fixxer), Billy (blkseabk) and his wife, Mike (FJ FunJunkie) and his wife and daughter, and Peter (itsdbom)
After downing some coffee, the gang headed out to Mokuleia for some more picture taking and a little off-road fun....

Here's Mike showing everyone how ATRAC works....

Here's Peter showing some "flex" action.....

Here's one of Billy with his "battle scarred" floorboard...

Lastly, a group shot by the beach....Only in Hawaii...

After we parted ways, I drove home (yes, I made it ) with a huge smile on my face. I'm sooo glad I came out and met the other FJ owners on Oahu. And yes, I wheeled my TRD. (Just broke it in, too) Hopefully someone has pics of me....my wife might not believe me otherwise...
I was a little hesitant at first, but the TRD performed beautifully. It negotiated most of the obstacles without using the locker. ATRAC is your friend here.
Anyhow gang, sorry the pics weren't better quality.(My camera sux) I'll try harder next time.
I had a blast, and it was a true pleasure meeting each one of you. I can't wait 'til the next meet. I'll be much better prepared next time, I promise. To those who didn't show: YOU GUYS MISSED OUT! BIG TIME!

Only happy to share....
I just wish I was a better photgrapher with a better camera.
I'm sure the other guys have better photos than me....

I love that you can wheel on the island. My wife and I are thinking about getting a small place in Oahu (possibly Hawaii Kai). We have a couple of trips planned there to start looking in March and July and December for next Christmas. Glad to know ther is some nice wheelin. Great pics btw.

Re: Hawaii Fjs Outing #1

Well, I've lived here my whole life and this is the first time I ever went to wheel. A BIG mahalos goes out to the rest of the Hawaii FJ group who showed me where this place was to begin with.
Besides, it's more fun to wheel with friends, especially since we all drive FJs.

Thanks for the comment about the pics. On the next outing, I'll hopefully have a better camera. I wanted to wheel too much instead of taking pics!

Re: Hawaii Fjs Outing #1

Thanks Peter. Glad you like them. They could've come out a little better, but hopefully someone else took nicer pics.
It was nice to finally meet you. Your ride looks good with the Muds and the gobi ladder. All you need now is ATRAC....
Looking forward to more outings!

Hey bro's, Big mahalos for the great time today, I also wicked enjoyed meeting everyone of you. It's kinda cool that we all were around the same age group wit alot of same interests. I really didn't know what to expect, like one you said "blind date" but now I can tell that we all are going to become great freinds. It's amazing that a vehicle and the internet brought out a great group of folks for a great day. Next time we should all plan to get some grindz after. Thanks to Billy and your wife for the company at Cholos after the run today, I got ya next time bro. I'm going to post all the complete video on youtube and send you all the link, then I am going to attempt to edit it into a highlight clip and post that one later tonight. Oh by the wayz I will pm you all because I noticed I gave you all my old cell number, I'm a dumbass heheheheh I never call my own phone y'know. Thanks again everyone and already planning for next run. ALOHA ...Mike

Photos to follow and links after that.

Re: Hawaii Fjs Outing #1

i am actually in maui at the moment. i am dying without my FJ here, so many cool scenic drives. out of the four times i have been here i havent driven one of them, but now that i have an FJ i die whenever i see cool back country. there are a couple here around kaanapali, a voodoo, sun fusion, and a black cherry. actually my sister in laws father was up here, he has a sun fusion 6 speed. both of us were talking about that. oh well, i will be home soon playing in the snow the day after i get back.

any of you guys from maui?
