What is up with those crazy AZ people?

It was a real pleasure meeting the folks from AZ at the summit! You guys were great fun to hang out with. My wife and I are thinking of visiting out there for some wheelin' in the future. That is if you guys can handle some Detroit transplants for a week

Re: What is up with those crazy AZ people?

Word of advice:

Don't come until late October to late April. Any other time will be miserably hot.

HTH,

Re: What is up with those crazy AZ people?

We're up for it anytime. But yes, October to late April would be preferable... we wouldn't want you to get a bad taste in your mouth of AZ.

But if you DO come before then, there's ALWAYS a place to wheel. It might be at night though.

EDIT: Of course, I'm only talking of the valley. You could be in Sedona, Flag or Payson in the higher country and it wouldn't be as bad temp wise.

Detroit! I lived in MI my whole life, honestly folks, the summer here isn't bad at all. I'll take the dry heat over 90 with 80% humidity any day.

Go Tigs!

I lived in Illinois, been out here 11 years, so I can call myself a native now....I dont know why, but this particular summer has been a bear for me. Maybe its the early monsoons, the humidity, or I am just tired of the heat. I dont know.

I will agree, though, that the dry heat out here is much better than the midwestern mosquito filled humid summers.

Ya, the humidity in the midwest sucks. I prefer the dry heat here....unfortunatley, right now with monsoon season starting, it's almost as bad as being back east.

I still recommend you come in the fall through spring.....that way you'll be able to do the most things and enjoy the great weather (while getting away from the snow/cold in MI).

Yeah, that storm last night was somethin' else, huh? I sat undercover outside just to watch it.

Re: What is up with those crazy AZ people?

All we had was dust at my house, spent like 3 hours cleaning the pool yesterday and now its trashed again. It was pretty intense though, I watched out our sliding door. Monsoon season seems to be pretty badass, this one will be my first.
