When is there more mud to romp in - in Arizona?

The recent photos of rain and more importantly MUD have raised this important question for those of us who may wish to visit Arizona.

Re: When is there more mud to romp in - in Arizona?

It's also quicksand season. It's an often forgotten, somewhat uncommon hazzard... but it's for real.

Many of our canyon runs get wet-ish, but they're mostly rock and sand to start with, so they don't necessarily get muddy. Table Mesa area, however, gets muddy.

During winter snows, the slush garuntees mud on the ridge tops.

If you really want to slip and slide, go out WHILE it's monsooning.

Re: When is there more mud to romp in - in Arizona?

There is some mud in AZ, but it's hardly worth traveling here for IMO.

Having lived in the midwest with it's soupy, black (or worse red clay) mud.....this silty stuff is no comparison. The flash flood conditions are noteworthy, but more dangerous than any "fun" you might get from running in them.

2 cents,
Sean
