Thinking of moving to AZ

Hey everyone, I live in Southern California (Santa Clarita Valley to be exact). I am thinking of moving out to AZ but what I have seen so far is that it is HOT. I have been to Glendale during the summer and it was around 112 during the day, I couldn't even go outside! Plus there are zero trees.

I don't know much of what is out in AZ but I am hearing that it is a great place. My question is, are there any nice places that would have weather like Southern California (highest temp 104 rare) with temps around 90's usual during the summer? I also need some greenery, I can't do the whole Rock Garden in my front yard...

Also, it seems there must be a lot of 4 wheeling up there, but reassure me!

I am looking to finish up my college life at Arizona State University, so anywhere close to there would be nice...

Are there any other good Medical schools in AZ (for my girlfriend) and business schools (for me)?

Thanks guys and gals,
Matt

if you are looking for med school and biz school but don't want the brutal temps then you might have to look at tucson or flagstaff

Re: Thinking of moving to AZ

hehe, yea AZ is HOT! anywhere near ASU is going to be hot, if you move out of the city it is a little better but your still in the triple digits...
There are a lot of places to wheel and great people that are willing to join you almost every day...
Regarding greenery... is a football field enough?
BTW, Jessa and I are Realtors... if you have any questions just let us know...

Hi Matt, Like stated below there are a few things to think about...

You dont want it to be to hot - That means you have to live north of the valley; probably flagstaff or possibly payson or prescott (But flagstaff is the only one out of those three that have a major university)

You want to go wheelin - If you live in the phoenix metro area you can go north, south, east or west to go wheelin. We might be a concrete jungle but you know what going wheelin is pretty easy where ever you are.

You want greenery - Like stated below is a football field good enough? Probably not as Im the same way...you could live near a park...but your house can have what ever landscaping you want!! Were a desert and we cant really do anything about that! Tempe is concrete jungle but it has its spots that have trees, parks...lots of good places here!!

Schools - If you plan on being near ASU there are tons of other schools around there. If you look it up you just want to stay near Tempe...Tempe is a party town but if you go to the border it seems to calm down some...If you want a commute you could go in any direction...I have been in the east valley all my life and I love it. West valley to me isnt as nice, has more crime....sorry everyone that lives in the west valley!

Any more questions just ask!!!
Jessa - A realtor with an FJ that loves to wheel to get out of the heat!!
