I will be exploring in the Salida and Ouray areas during the third week of Sept. Looking for advise and or company. I have a stock FJ with rock rails and BFG A/T's. Mostly easy trails. I am prepared to camp out or not. I will travel to you if you are trailing somewhere else. I am a flatlander and do not want to anger the gods of elevation. Being a flatlander, I am also facinated by mountains, snow, and all of the off road trails in your state. I am a flyfisherman and would be interested in that aspect as well.
We live in Fruita Co. Will be doing trails in Ouray area that weekend. Will have one FJ with us. I drive a Jeep CJ so I will lead the trails and take it easy on you FJ owners, so you don't get a scrath or dent. Maybe FJ's were intended for Flatland use? Hmm

Re: Colorado Bound

Just did Imogene and Ophir Passes on Friday. It was raining and low 40s on top. Only saw a dozen other vehicles the whole time on the trails. Most all the snow was gone, waterfalls were just a trickle. There were a few spots that had erroded from the wear and runoff, but nothing major.

Mines a stock FJ and never bumped the frame or a skidplate that day. A couple of bumps on Black Bear during the Summit.

Have fun!
