That's a trip. I can match the modern picture of the ruin stone-for-stone to those vintage pictures of the store from when it was in service. That stuff gives me goosebumps.

that's funny ...I was doing the exact same thing...starting at the top right corner of the closest window....I'm in...I've found quite a few old ruins on my journeys on the back trails of Az.. but I don't know the history of any of them to make it fun for anyone...so for this...I will be the follower....
Copper Creek was a small (~200 people) mining camp in the late 1800s into 1900s. Today it is located on private land and closed to the public. However I know the rancher who owns this land; it may be possible to arrange a trip with 4 or 5 vehicles. Many people believe the Post Office was located at the Copper Creek sign, however it was located several miles to the northeast of that location. I have been researching this area for several years. Its history is colorful!
I would love to go back in there. Our trip ended when the trail was washed out. I would be in for repairing it or at least making a list of items needed for a later repair.
We were also dragging a Tahoe along with us (apparently to plant potatoes with), so that slowed us down a bit. Puulboy and Walverine were along for that trip.
So who is planning this trip and when?
Some of you guys really seen to know some juicy stuff so please lead us
I will bring goodies packed in the engel fridge...
This sounds like some real fun but I don't know enough to plan or lead on something like this so someone else is needed....it seems we have interest

I would be happy to lead a trip to Copper Creek. This is a fun trip for the whole family! Late November is a good time to go with warm days and cool nights. The leaves are turning bright colors with the approach of winter. You can see the fall colors in the pictures taken last year. This would be an over night trip as there is much to see and photograph. As I stated before, we will likely be limited on the number of vehicles, 4 or 5 most likely. I pay the rancher $20 dollars for the privilege of accessing this area. I will talk to the rancher; maybe we can get approval for a small group to go into Copper Creek. Its important to note that this area has been badly damaged be vandals in the past fifteen years; that is why Copper Creek is closed to the public and gates locked. If we go, we will tread lightly! Here are more pictures from the last few years.
