Re: AZFJ: Mod Party

Subject header "AZ MOD PARTY" Is there a date yet? or should I give up on this Mod Party/forum thing as well and just hope I run into folks in the valley....hmmm?
While folks were posting I installed the CB. Still need to track down a SWR tuner...I hear Kat has it (You should bring it to the Tuscon Run if so.)
Would still like to get a body mount chop done though!

I've got a tuner somewhere around here too, and you're welcome to use it.

I hope you used the correct length of wire. It's not just like installing a cable TV drop into another room of your house. If you use the wrong length of cable, you're F'd.

Hmmmm? I purchased the "Bigbill" setup from Walcott. Seemed to be pretty good response on the forum about the setup...
....now I'm worried F'd and FJ are not terms I like to here in the same sentence!

Re: AZFJ: Mod Party

Hey Jon-bellydoc stop scaring people on the cable thing
This issue I have noticed gets folks all up in arms all over the radio world...
The Defpom coax length page
Let's Talk Coax!
Exposing the 18' CB Coax Myth

After reading lots of sites and a couple of books and then doing my installs of cb and ham (multiple times on both) I go with the pre-measured cable and BE CAREFUL NOT TO COIL THE LEFTOVER but to bunch it like yarn or randomly.

It was even funny to the guys at Ham Radio Outlet that I ask about it since the said to be much more important to make sure your coax is quality and without nicks/rubbing against metal

just my thoughts for what they are worth

I've pretty much given up on the mod party planning, anyone else can take over..... we are going to be doing mods this weekend, you are welcome to join us! We have a lift to install and want to install our new cb.

Yes, we do have the tuner as well, but obviously were not at the tucson run. PM me if you want to get together and tune your cb.

I'm still up for the mod party. All I can contribute is a case of beer. Wherever it is, whenever it is - I'll be there.

I have a tuner and live in the southeast valley if you need one, or help with the final setup. Just PM me if you need it.

Where are mods taking place this weekend? I may be able to stop by and help out with some stuff, and at least meet some of you guys again.

Is there going to be any body mount chopping this weekend? Cause if so I will be there with anything you guys need if I can get mine done to.

We are probably just going to try to do the lift either saturday morning/night or Sunday morning.....so if anyone wants to volunteer helping and a torque wrench, cool, PM me!

Oh, we don't have a garage, so if anyone has one of those too, that would be neat!
