Re: AZFJ: Mod Party

I work the 15th, but still hoping to make the run in Tuscon on the 16th. The 22nd would be better for me....but I'm a bachelor with no outside commitments, besides the bill paying adventures that the government sends me on.

On a serious note, my son and I thought about doing my lift. My mechanic on the other hand couldn't stress enough the potential danger of installing the coil springs.
Just a thought...
This is no joke. Compressing springs is a little bit sporty! I have a couple of spring compressor clamps and I just keep wrenching and wrenching and wrenching to get them to come down. In my mind, I'm adding up all the energy I've used to torque down, and trying to think what it would look like if it all cut loose at once. I think it would look a lot like a metal spring flying up into my face and barely slowing down before it came out the other side of my head!

I shrug it off and take great consolation in knowing that accidents never happen to earnest and well meaning people such as myself.

Re: AZFJ: Mod Party

Sounds interesting, I don't know what my future holds, but I may be there. I don't really have anything to mod, but I guess I could tear apart my stereo again, I need to rewire some things, which means taking out the seats and junk.

Does anyone know how to install a pac swi-jack so I can use the steering wheel controls?

Re: AZFJ: Mod Party

I just got off the phone with Demello asking them about shocks. I told them to come out for the mod party. Kurt, I hope you don't mind...

IMO have a mechanic do it. Mine, who is no beginner by any stretch said it was kind of a PINA because so much stuff has to come off first. AND AND ONE MORE TIME THE SPRING COMPRESSION CAN BE DANGEROUS. Ok, I feel better now.....

Got anything of value you can hock, besides your FJ.
If I remember right you're like us and your FJ is your only vehicle? So take it some place you know will finish it that day. And don't forget your alignment, Kurt can't do that I don't think.
