Re: body mount chop in phoenix?

My friend and I did one on my truck that came out good. I think I may chop it more if I get 35's . But it works well for now. If I can find the pics I will post here
thanks
Don

Re: body mount chop in phoenix?

I asked 4 Wheeler Supply about it when they installed my lift and they said they would do it for around $200. I didn't get it done though because the fab shop had about a 2 month waiting list to get in there.

Check the thread for the Mod Party. I need to get the same thing done, but we can do it ourselves (well, maybe not ME specifically because I'd break something) and there'll be lots of tools at the party.

Re: body mount chop in phoenix?

id love to do it myself or at a mod party, but with something as serious as a body mount chop I'd like to get someone with very professional welding skills who has done it before (I don't like being the Guinea Pig : )

Re: body mount chop in phoenix?

This mod is easier than making ice cubes. It's all removal of minimally structural material. If I do it again, I'm going to try to design a way that no additional material needs to be added - just cut away some of the existing material and then grind and fold the remainder and weld it shut again.

The amount of time spent cutting, grinding, hammering and welding is about the same as the amount of time that it takes to put the front end up on jack stands, get the wheels off, and then reverse the process afterward.

You can use my cordless sawsall and my welder and my scrap metal and do it for free, if this "mod party" happens on a day that I can be there.
