Re: Reno NV offroading

It is almost more of a question of where people DON'T offroad. I just spent last weekend scouting deer up NW of Winnemucca, and traversed some beautiful country. In the Reno area, Hunter Lake is always good, although the access from Caughlin is closed due to the recent fire. But pretty much, you can head any direction and find your way offroad here.

Re: Reno NV offroading

I like heading up North Of Truckee and cruising around near Sierraville and even closer like Stampede Res. Area. My favorite is the maze of trails that run around near Gold Lake and Sierra City off of Highway 49.

We really do have a lot of options. But Peavine's fun if you want to stay close.

Re: Reno NV offroading

Well, there are some great roads to explore around the dry lake just east of Pyramid. Also, if you head north from Pyramid, you can just keep going and going. Very nice drives in the Black Rock. I could probably list about 50 great drives around the area, but I'd need to grab my topos from home to be more exact with the descriptions.
