Re: AZFJ my thoughts

Ok guys, here are my thoughts. I do understand Don and Leglance's concern, it is absolutely truth that if you don't know us, there is no way you are going to understand what's going on, when, where and probably you won't realize that it will be somewhere in the future, doesn't really matter for us, but in the meantime we are just playing around, goofing and texting senseless stuff. Just having a good time.

The problem is; the places where we chat and goof around. Pretty much all the threads with a purpose are deviated from a run or a bbq to all sorts of crazy stuff. So.......

Let's keep the threads focusing on its purpose. If it is a trail run post, a bbq, a get together, we ONLY write things "valuable" to that post leading to achieve its goal.

Lets do a post "you pick the name" where it will be sort of chat room where AZFJ can talk about anything, all your jokes, parties and senseless stuff we like to talk about. When you go to this: "thread for special people of AZFJ" you will be reading pages and pages of things that will take you nowhere, make you loose your time, but you will have fun. There will be no goal of this thread other than let your imagination roll. ( Don't forget there are many artists here)

This will certainly make the other posts not so fun but certainty useful.

My two cents
JP

"thread for special people of AZFJ"

My two cents
JP
I like this idea, in off topic - i think that would be great. .....SO, in the mean time, if anyone actually wants to have a mod party and another BBQ - we can start a whole new thread and update the first page with the details, kind of like a trail run.

I agree with all this, and what Lance said - I kind of cracked myself up when I actually got frustrated and gave up trying to plan a mod party...since I am involved in the useless banter. BUT, we all know how hard it is for us to plan something........

From now on, for future plans - whoever starts the thread (I think anyway) should already have the place and time picked out. For those than can attend, sweet, for those that can't - we will have more get togethers, it just makes it that much easier! (If you noticed the thread awhile back for the happy hour with Maureen from the Trail Teams that I started - I had already picked out the time and place - no options - and that thread was not 300 pages long.....it worked out well.)

So.....someone go to Off Topic and post a ADHD AZFJ thread.....

The intent for this thread is to air my feelings and I can in turn accept criticism.

When the thought of getting together with other FJ Owners came to mind, I decided to try a get-together, which was the Pavilions car show back in March of this year. I have always believed that if we had a diverse group of people in our non group, we would welcome whoever wanted to join.

The issue I see is when our threads are read by people who don’t know us, they may not want to join the group. I am all for free speech and expression: however, the constant talk of getting drunk, beer, foul language and inappropriate topics excludes certain people that do not party as hard as it appears that we do. If there were an occasional reference to having a few beers after the run, that is ok. From the outside looking in it seems that all we do is party. We cannot even stay on topic enough to get runs going. I am confused every time I try to find out what’s going on with the people I know, let alone someone we invite to join our runs and the forum. I love to clown around and enjoy witty posts, but it seems we just type a few letters or none at all just to get post count. Our message always remains blurred. There is a thread we can post to that is considered off topic. I know some threads tend to stray, but really, can we have a more organized side to show prospective AZFJ’s we can put events and trail runs together without loosing the whole topic after the 200th one line post??
WE are a diverse group. We all have our own lifestyles and beliefs. The example we set as a whole is how one person may judge each of us and decide based on their belief and values that this would not be a worthwhile group for them or their family.
First impressions count. We want to continue bringing diversity to our group and the impression we exude is not one that will welcome the majority.

This thread would not even be started if I didn’t believe is the AZFJ group
Thank you
Don

i couldn't agree with you more, my thoughts are that the forum is for talking and learning about the fj, mods , trail runs, and posting pics of these items for all of us to learn from and enjoy. if someone needs to discuss other issues, that is what the PM's are for, or better yet use your cell phones. just my thoughts.
peace/out

Re: AZFJ my thoughts

I think the answer to the problem of finding info and sending a consistent message is having a legitimate website. I see there exists this page which is some pretty hilarious text, but not much of a site! Who set that up?

It's a lot of work, but I think that would be really helpful. Maybe I am volunteering for this - keep track of what's going on and post it on the site, pure info no BS.

What do you guys think, I would do that if we think it would help. Check this out, this is a pretty good example: Northwest FJ Cruiser Club - Trail Run Schedules

Thanks, Kurt. I have tried to PM BellyDoc unsuccessfully. BellyDoc - please chime in with your thoughts!
