Coming to Salt Lake

My wife and I are coming up to Salt Lake for school the week of the 22nd in Oct. and I was hoping to at least hit a trail ,hopefully two, would anyone out there in that are be able to give me the names a few trails, it will be a weekday but if anyone wants to play hookey ? I am a newbee to the 4 wheel version of offroad dont have a lift yet and stock tires.

There are LOTS of places to go... from Mild to Wild.

I'm thinking that you want something on the mild side that might offer a view of the Fall Colors? Maybe American Fork Canyon - Mineral Basin?

Thanks for the reply slopoke... mild wild as long as I can drive home... and being I will more than likley be by myself ( not sure if thats smart or not.) I spent some time in Moab in my MTB days and have not seen much in Utah that doesnt have awsome sceanery, I will definatly check these out I have seen them on trails.com.
