4X4 voodoo blue at Larry Miller Toyota

Was at Larry Fester Toyota today getting the Sequoia looked at. They have a 4x4 voodoo blue mt6 cq and carpeted floor mats for 26 and change. Only a 4995mva which you could probably get them to remove. It went on a test drive so I don't know if it sold or not. They also had a 4x2 voodoo blue.

Was at Larry Fester again getting oil filters for the FJ and the Sequoia and the parts guy told me they just got 4 more FJ's in today. I don't know if they are spoken for or not. The parts guy thought there were 2 blues and 2 yellows. Not for sure, but I did see the yellow when I was leaving. They can be had at MSRP. Just keep your cool.

Re: 4X4 voodoo blue at Larry Miller Toyota

I called the fleet department at Larry Miller and they told me that they were selling the Automatics for $1500 over MSRP and the Manuals for $750 over MSRP. I was getting my oil changed yesterday and they had a blue one out front with a $5000 markup. It was listed at $32,500 and it was a 4X2. I have bought a vehicle from them before but if you have to negotiate the MSRP price, I wouldn't but from them.

Re: 4X4 voodoo blue at Larry Miller Toyota

After a month and a half of looking bought mine from Miller through their fleet dept. Being in business and having bought 7 vehicles in 10 years theirs was by far the best experience even with $1000.00 over MSRP both in the sales and finance depts. Beware of the local dealers. The sales people say one thing yet when the contracts came out they had tagged anywere from $3,000.00 to $5,500.00 on MSRP!!!! As it was when mine came in my salesperson tried to hide it at the side of the building so others could not see it while I inspected it. Within 2 minutes another salesperson was at the side door giving the vehicle's specs on the phone to someone and another customer came screaming around the corner with salesperson in tow yelling that he would take the blue one(mine!). This with a huge sold sign in the window! I and the salesperson (we are both over 6'2") had a hard time getting them to back off. Yeesh what ever happened to self control?

Hold on now, lemme get this straight. As I understand it, you:

1. Bought your FJ from a dealer's fleet department (which usually gives better prices than a salesman on the floor)

2. You've been in business (the car business?)

3. You've purchased 7 vehicles in 10 years from this dealership

4. You had the "best experience" ever with them

5. AND YOU PAID $1,000 OVER MSRP???!!!

If those are the facts I think you need someone to help you on your next vehicle purchase. I'm sure that dealership loves you!

No I did not buy the other vehicles from this dealership.
Yes I own my own business but not auto for 26 years and all these vehicles were purchased for the business at well under invoice.
Don' t be nasty...I thought I did very well.Trade in given so much over TMV more than made up for $1000.00 markup.
Are you really telling me that you got yours at MSRP?

Re: 4X4 voodoo blue at Larry Miller Toyota

Hey Blue Cayouse,

If you feel good about your purchase that is all that matters. The only dealership that I know of in the Valley that is selling at MSRP is Avondale Toyota. I was at Larry Miller the other day and I was kind of insulted by what they offered me. I already bought one vehicle from them in 05 and was pleased with the purchase but this time they tried to rob me. They offered me $8k for my trade in and wanted $5k over invoice on the vehicle. I really wasn't buying that day anyway so I didn't care to much and I was polite and so were they. I sold my vehicle today for $15k on my own and now that I'm ready to buy my FJ, it will not be from them. I thought that was sad too because I enjoyed my first buying experience from them. Just goes to show what can happen when the dollar signs flash before the salesmens eyes on how much profit they can make on a new vehicle.

More than just the sale of the vehicle, I don't know if I'll still take my vehicle to their dealership to have it serviced like I have for the last year. That is thousands of dollars over the course of the years that I will own my Tacoma. I think for many of us, the bad experiences people have had trying to buy an FJ will cost the dealerships in lost revenue later on in future sales. This will not be the last vehicle purchase for most of us and we like Toyotas so they likely hurt themselves in the end selling over MSRP.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Krash.

Many, many, many, many, many people on this board have paid MSRP. There are tons of dealers selling for sticker. Some are even getting under MSRP now. You may not believe it, but it really is true.
