Re: Crown King Run - June 10th, 8am

Big thanks to Kevin, Brandon and the rest of the folks from Copper State Cruisers for extending an invitation to the all the new FJC owners here. Really good to meet those guys and to get the low down on this trail run on the 10th. Nice to meet some other people from this board too (Atilla, FJ_AZ). Looks like this will be a big turn out and a great chance to get all the valley FJCs in one place. A good turn out would make for some nice photo ops.

Re: Crown King Run - June 10th, 8am

Yee-Haw!! Me and the Blue Cayouse will try to make it. However being a lady myself (questionable) I really don't want to bring one. If I can find one can I bring a boy toy and a cooler full along instead?

Re: Crown King Run - June 10th, 8am

NOT A CROWN KING RUN ANYMORE!!! IT'S DESOTO MINES, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING FULLY!!!!!!! SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE AND CONFUSION, IT'S NOT MY FAULT, JUST ROLLING WITH THE PUNCHES, PLEASE BEAR WITH ME AND THIS OUTING!!!!!!

let's all go on the FJ Factory team run, get our free stuff and bag out when paint and/or scrape damage is emminent...................
If we all turn around at once, and the magazine guys are there, that will make the Toyota Team look stupid.....
I'M GOING ON THEIR TRIP TO THAT DAM MINE !!!!!!!
HERE'S THE DAM MINE INFO AND THE POST FROM IH8MUD, DESOTO MINE:

Brady Clarke of Toyota's FJ Cruiser Trail Team will be visiting Arizona, and I've planned a trail run for his team for Saturday June 10th.

This run will be posted on Toyota America's FJ Cruiser "Trail Teams" website at: www.toyota.com/fjtrailteams

This event will be open to ALL VEHICLES with 2-speed transfer cases. Come on out, see the FJ Cruiser go, and show off your brand's rig.

Our plan is to run a cooler trail (for obvious reasons). In case of Prescott National Forest closures due to fire danger, we'll have backup plans in place (both other forest, and non-forest areas).

The main supporters of this event are the Arizona Land Cruiser Association and Arizona Copperstate Cruiser Club with additional support from Expedition Portal members.

I will also be writing a story for this event for submission into a popular Toyota-brand magazine. You never know who's rig will make the mag!

TRIP DETAILS:

Event name: FJ ROCKS ARIZONA

Event date: Saturday, June 10th

Event trail: DeSoto Mine

Trail leader: Steve Schaefer (3rd Gen 4Runner w'SAS)

Meeting place: Circle K in the Town of Mayer (7 miles NW of Cordes Jct. on AZ69 toward Prescott)

Meeting time: 9:00 AM, with a pullout of 9:30 SHARP

Event duration: 4-5 hours (for trail and play time)

Trail difficulty: 3.0+ (with 3.5+ options)

Should all of the nearby-to-Phoenix forests close due to fire danger, the non-forest backup will be RAW DEAL (in the same area of AZ) which will be more difficult, in the arena of a 3.5+.

Check back to this original post for more details. COME ON OUT AND SEE THE FJ CRUISER TEAM DURING THEIR ONLY PLANNED STOP TO ARIZONA!

I know time is now drawing short, please let us all know your intentions on line, I'm in until I turn back if I get skeered of damage.

Peace!

Attilla

Re: Crown King Run - June 10th, 8am

Same here... no thoughts of going to Desoto Mine until I know the FJ will come back unscathed. Call me a pansy but I prefer not to damage my FJ that is less than a month old.

Re: Crown King Run - June 10th, 8am

I gotta say, I'm pretty bothered that the FJ Factory team didn't bother checking on the FJ CRUISER FORUM for input. It took all day for this to fully set in. I thought that their purpose, (why Toyota pays them), is to go out with FJ owners and have a little factory support in the field. Won't be much of a photo op with the only FJ's there belonging to Toyota, hell, they could have done that at their garage.......I almost feel like going, just so I can tug on their ear a little.................I'm very disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(maybe a little angry too, and that's not cool, anger is for the bad guys)

Attilla

By the way, this is their ONLY scheduled Arizona stop!!!!!!!

Re: Crown King Run - June 10th, 8am

GRRR..
I'm menopausal so I will get mad for you. I already got quite a few people interested in this trip. Other 4x4 people and some looking for a new ride.I will no longer promote the FJ to people if they are not willing to do it themselves. Could have had some potential customers for them. What a really stupid thing for them to do. I guess that they just want play by themselves . I wanted to have fun and meet with other FJers, flex the Cayouse's abilities and just have a good day darn't; not sit back and watch. Perhaps we should have them get in touch with this forum. Is there anyone we can contact?

I agree let's do it anyway. It's a nice way to have an outing. Maybe the Toyota folks will get bored and stop by afterall.Anybody else think that this is a good idea? I don't know if they will even get the email but I'm going to go on the Toyota sites this morning, get the corporate office's email addresses and let them know how disappointed I am .
