UT Cruisers Official Decal thread

I know there is a growing group of informal off-road enthusiasts here in Utah, and I thought it would be cool if we also had our own decals to show off when we are in Ouray or AZ or or SoCal or where ever. I thought we could do this much like the S.Cal folks did and design/post for a month, have a vote, and get them made up in time for the Moab spring fling. I've got an idea I'm working up, and if you think of something that you would like but are unable to execute the design PM me and I'll help you out. Unless there are any objections I say we keep this thread open for 3 weeks (not too fast that you can't get anything together, not so long that we forget about it or put it off)
until February 2nd(ish). So get going on your ideas and post up often.
Chime in on everyone's ideas so we can keep this thread active. Also let's discuss what requirements one would need meet to obtain such a coveted piece of automotive beautification. (My vote is that you have to show up to a trail run in Utah somewhere, sometime. Simple)

Re: UT Cruisers Official Decal thread

To get the ball rolling here is my preliminary idea:
ut-cruisers-official-decal-thread-utahcruiserssmaller.jpg

I included my inspiration just in case someone didn't pick up on it. I thought the center of the Utah outline might be able to use a little something, but I also don't want to over-complicate it. I can also make the black outlines silver (chrome-ish) to more accurately simulate the original badge, and help it stand out on dark tinted windows or bumpers or bodypanels (except the titanium body).

I put the text Utah Cruisers and left off any images of an FJC because I am of the opinion that our "group" should not be a super exclusive club that you have to jump through all these hoops to get in or act or dress a certain way. I say as long as you wear pants or similar and you have a "rig" to put the decal on (or at least a trapper keeper or whatever) and most importantly you show up to some event(s) you're in. If you are in a Jeep great, Nissan sure, Fiat, we'll talk about it. Just bring your friends I say.

Feel free to vote me down though. This country is a democracy, (or republicarocity ).

Here is a delicate arch variation of my original idea, or maybe someone can think of the arch in another way.

Keep thinking out loud everybody. At work when we sit down for a creative design session that's how it works. We just sit and what if and draw, and critique and what if and draw, etc...

I'm stoked this has been up for such a short time and people are already hitting it.

So I take it that any lack of participation here is a vote for one of the following:
ut-cruisers-official-decal-thread-22896800-1.jpg

ut-cruisers-official-decal-thread-coolcandys.jpg

ut-cruisers-official-decal-thread-dcp_4714.jpg

ut-cruisers-official-decal-thread-puke.jpg

If we have to I'm voting for the TRD edition shirts
ut-cruisers-official-decal-thread-matchingshirt20390188.jpg

I don't know if you feel better or worse, surrounded by a bunch of your friends wearing the same shirt.

I'm into it. Moabrat and Delray and few others go out fairly regularly when we are not buried in snow. I think Moabrat is the ringleader (not sure though) He seems to want to keep it casual, as in: if you suck (as a person) we just won't invite you next time, and that's fine by me. If enough Utah folks enjoyed wintersports we could meet at a resort one Saturday to kill time until the thaw.

I really like the Delicate Arch one. I think it would be cool to have it made with chrome accents like the old 4WD emblem. I know some people who could get it made in China for us....plastic with chrome plating. It would be cool for an "emblem" or it could be used as a sticker....

My wife actually has a computerized cutter for her scrapbooking. I got her the computer software for it this last Christmas. Maybe I could scan it in and cut these suckers pretty cheap.....

I'm up for it!
