Nor-Cal representin' here too. I'm originally from San Jose.
When I think of Utah I think of the mountains more than the slickrock. However, I'm fine with the Arch for the badge, other than the fact that, as mentioned, it's a little worn out from being on the license plates.
Personally, I run the BYU plates, so no worries for me.

yeah, the arch doesn't bother me, but that's probably 'cause I have the ski Utah plates....

I would love to see a Utah Cruisers road trip to Nor Cal to do the Rubicon.

OK . Idea noted, tabled, approved. That's my dream trip. I'll bet we can round up some of my new FJ California friends to help/guide. I would be more that willing to switch around my schedule anytime for that one. Let's see. Moab in April, check. Moab over Memorial Day, check. I wonder how that would be in September? I'll bet we'd run into weather. Let's plan it for Spring Fling next April? That was a brilliant suggestion. You just made V.P. of activities. I am fine with founder. I seriously think several of you would make a good president for the first year. We need to get together and structure a bit. Just the badges for our rigs require a bank account and a treasurer. We need to have 10 or 12 set aside for new members. These production runs are pretty expensive and I don't think we want a lot of dues to maintain stuff like that. I think the key to contentment is being a loose association of friends that like to get together and explore. I do think that it's important that we join the U4WDA and support local projects and maybe that should be our minimum requirement for membership.

I like where your head's at......

I'm in 100% All I care about is that we make a wicked awesome badge. One that every other FJ owner in America will envy. It has to look tough and just a little mean. Something that people in a station wagon will notice and say WHAT THE!!!! Know what I mean. I said this before but I will support anything the group comes up with. But if possible I say be LOUD AND PROUD!!!!
September in Tahoe is fine weather-wise. The nights would be a little chilly but other than that, the storms don't start rolling in until November. Average rainfall in Tahoe City is less than an inch that time of year. Rubicon would be awesome, but think I would have to get some mods going first. Especially the A-Trac, Rear Locker hack which is not supposed to be hard to do.
I'm all in favor of getting badges for the FJ as well. What kind of dimensions are we talking for these things?

I've done the hack a few times now, glad to help if you need it. It only takes a half-hour or so. I did mine as soon as we figured it out and have had no trouble with it at all. IMO, it's as good as having a front locker in my old Jeep.
