Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

while we're at it, it would be cool if we could get a "sub-forum" like the boys in AZ....

I would also be all over any North Ca. or Rubicon trip. That is where I grew up! (Between Lincoln and Auburn North of Sacramento)

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

I would like to join. I spent the weekend in Moab and did a portion of Poison spider trail, and caught the bug. Since I don't know anybody that has a 4wd, I came a searching and found this sight. Next step for me is a lift.

We talked about it and kind of ruled it out. The AZ forum isn't really inviting to new members and we want everyone to feel included no matter how long you have had the FJ.

OK . Idea noted, tabled, approved. That's my dream trip. I'll bet we can round up some of my new FJ California friends to help/guide. I would be more that willing to switch around my schedule anytime for that one. Let's see. Moab in April, check. Moab over Memorial Day, check. I wonder how that would be in September? I'll bet we'd run into weather. Let's plan it for Spring Fling next April? That was a brilliant suggestion. You just made V.P. of activities. I am fine with founder. I seriously think several of you would make a good president for the first year. We need to get together and structure a bit. Just the badges for our rigs require a bank account and a treasurer. We need to have 10 or 12 set aside for new members. These production runs are pretty expensive and I don't think we want a lot of dues to maintain stuff like that. I think the key to contentment is being a loose association of friends that like to get together and explore. I do think that it's important that we join the U4WDA and support local projects and maybe that should be our minimum requirement for membership.
This is a dream trip of mine as well! I have a friend who did it last year and I have some more friends that are going this summer but they are going with a big jeep jamboree. My vote would be for 2009 because most of us probably already have a lot of vacation planned and the Rubicon would be a pretty big trip. In the meantime with this weather around here getting so warm trail season is going to be hear fast. I think the idea of everyone joining U4WDA is great. The sooner the exploring can begin the better!

MoabRat, I work at an Internet provider, so I can host that website free of charge.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

I got a package from GoDaddy and the domain is hosted there right now. I'm so lame though, I haven't put a website up yet. I do IT consulting and I just never seem to have time to consult myself lol. I already paid for two years, no big deal but that's a really nice offer. I guess we could transfer it there but I'd be happy to give you access to help with it at godaddy too. I just haven't fired up Dreamweaver yet.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

Well boys, I went fishing today down at Otter Creek and Piute Reservoir and I gotta tell you guys, that is beautiful country and I'm dying to do a camping trip down there. I would love if all of us could get together and do a trip down that way, there are many trails and I know of a few ghost towns down that way. I usually try to get down there about once a year, but have not been able to for the past few years. Today I realized what beautiful terrain it is and that I must go back there and explore more.

How do you guys feel about doing overnight camping trips? I know I have plenty of gear for camping and extra stuff we can use for the group. Anyone up for a trip like this sometime?

BTW, me and the misses vote for the arch design for the badges. I think it looks great and it is definitely something we would put on the FJ. Keep the ideas coming!!
