I'm in for sure. Let me know what you need from me.

Thanks for stepping up Rat. I'm too new to Off-roading and FJ's and I'm also pretty nerdy so I wouldn't be taken seriously if I tried to organize anything myself. We can probably just kill the UT FJ Decal thread and transpose it here so all the organization is centralized. I'm down to clean up, hike, eat, talk, fix, attend Real SL games, frisbee golf or whatever (I've never golfed, frisbee or otherwise). I'm guessing we should start with an official name for the "club".
Like the emblems I proposed say, I like "UT cruisers" mainly because it doesn't exclude friends that may not be privileged enough to own an FJ. Also my Father-in-law got jealous of my rig when he test drove it and tried to outdo me and bought a crazy lifted re-geared wrangler, he might want to come along if he is invited. How exclusive are we?
I like UT Cruisers too! I'm for that unless someone has a revelation for us all soon.
I sold my TJ to an old friend who comes along in Moab from time to time. It's certainly not about exclusivity lol. I'd like to focus on FJs and Toyota's but it's mostly about good folks, trails, and lot's of fun.
A couple of us are really in to old ghost towns and other such stuff so that usually involves using or finding old roads and trails in. I can't wait for spring. It would be fun to get us out before April. Maybe we can figure out something we can do this winter.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

Hey guys,

I would love to get out on some trails with you guys this spring. The trail maintance and clean up is also a really great and important thing and I would be willing to help out anytime with these efforts. I live in Sandy. One thing you may want to consider about the name is that there is already a group here in Utah called the "Wasatch Cruisers". They are a chapter of the TLCA here is their website Wasatch Cruisers . I just thought I'd mention that because it sounds so close to Utah Cruisers.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

It does sound quite similar. We should keep brainstorming but I don't mind if it's close myself. I emailed this group several times and they weren't even interested enough to respond. From this and other first hand accounts that I've heard it was/is a mess. Since there are so many of us that enjoy wheeling with each other already I just want to keep it fun. Nothing makes you want to get out and explore alone more than a group full of ugly politics . I'm an old California surfer. Just want good karma and peace.

My boys and I would like to participate. I'm the cub scout pack master - I'm not sure what the official title is. That will keep me pretty busy and my boys will be playing soccer and baseball this spring but we'd like to join you when we can.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

Hey guys im a long way from Utah but i thought i would give you my 2 cents. My girlfriend and I are driven from Maine in my lifted FJ to partake in the 2008 Summit meet. after the meet we will continue on to Utah and try and find some trails to hit but haven never been there we might be a lil lost. My point is that i bet a good amount of FJ's would be willing to stop buy on your home turf it would be great if you guys set up a smaller meet where you could show us how to wheel out there. Anyways just my thoughts hope to see ya on the trails.

I'm a graphic designer/branding guy so the similarity to another club with bad baggage is a downer for me. However the good vibes I'm feelin' with this group it could be way more popular and eclipse the other. I think the name is good (of course I proposed it ) I like that we are not specifically referencing FJ Cruisers, but it is insinuated and I can smile about it to myself if a jeeper in our group starts talking smack .

I'm gonna give this a good think and post up again. I love everyone else's feedback. There are some great ideas out there.

I didn't mention in my first post but I have met one of the "Wasatch Cruisers" personally and he was a conceded prick. I got the vibe from him that IFS rigs are not cool enough for their club. I then told him we did Prittchett canyon in an ifs Tacoma with no assistance at all. He rolled his eyes at me and said it must have been a long day. I was done talking with the guy at that point. I don't see why people take something that is so fun and ruin it with their ego. Anyway my Sway-A-Way suspension is going to be installed next week by Lancer auto and I would be up for a ride out in the desert if the snow breaks soon. Every one here seems to just want to have a good time. I would second Utah Cruisers as a good name.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

Unfortunately that's the vibe I got from multiple members. In talking with some of the folks in U4WDA most said don't bother with them. Anyhow, I didn't want to bash another club, they can have it as crappy as they want .
We've gotten together more as a group for meets and trips already than the old Toy club has in 5 or 6 years as far as I can tell. Best of all we all get along and I have a better time on each outing. Glad to have so much interest this season. Any ideas for a day trip in Winter?

By the way, I got my Donahoe stuff installed at the Lancer off the I15 at about 3700 south and 300 west or something. Great guys and they really take pride in a job well done. I would recommend them to anyone in Utah.

I third that Cruisers choice by the way, and again, I love the emblem. Let's try to do something like that soon. Is there anything I can do to help?

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

gericurl76 I'm sure interested in some of your ghost town knowledge. I have a few spots in the Canyonlands area that are demanding my attention as far as history go. I'd love in particular to hear the Moab stuff.
