Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

I just had a good sit down with the vendors. The cheapest I could get them I would be in for $1000.00 and they would be essentially the same process as the plastic FJ40 reproduction badges (no little screw things in the back though, just applied with 3M tape) I would have to sell 50 of them at $20.00 each to break even. Is there enough serious interest out there? I know that's a hard question because no one (even me) has seen the actual final product yet. I'll see if they can run a first article and then maybe we can go from there.

Well, there are 35 or so of us in Utah that are interested in the club. Of those there seems to be approval in the 20 to 25 dollar range. If we can get all of us to pony up 30 bucks each we can do it. That would leave a few spares for new members. I'd sure like one. Let's decide if everyone feels this way and if so I'll take two. I have a list of screen-names so I guess we could send out a feeler to everyone if they haven't checked our thread for a while.

I finally got a quote back from Lafrance for the big 4 wheel drive emblems. They will be about $3.00 each. Not bad right? Except we have to order a minimum of 2500 or something like that. So if we sell 300 at $25.00 each we will break even. But that's A LOT of money up front and a stretch to get that kind of monetary commitment from locals. (see decal ideas thread for more info)

My rep will be here Thurs. morning so I'm going to see if there is any way in heck <----(that's how we talk in the Utah club, right?) ...if there is any way in heck we can pay more per piece and order a lot less.

I think most on here would be okay to pay $20 for the badge (the rip-off remake from toyota I bought for $23 and it was the cheapest I could find.)

I don't even know if after the Sun Breakfast what the name of the club is. or if anyone is interested in pursuing this decal, or another. (I suck I wasn't there, sorry)
Gericurl,
Try contacting Brady Pilster at SymbolArts in South Ogden. Here's the contact info:

SymbolArts, LLC
6083 South 1550 East
Ogden, UT 84405

(801) 475-6000
FAX (801) 475-5500

Tell Brady that Bob Blakely sent you. Give him all the specs and stuff. There will be a price for creating the "mold" of the emblem and then price breaks for larger orders. Even if there was only a demand for 30, you split the mold price (they also call it set-up price) 30 ways. Then, if someone wants one in the future, Brady could reorder in certain quantities without paying the set-up charge!

It should put it in at a lower price than $30. At least, that's what I would imagine! You could shoot the artwork to him and get a price quote...wouldn't hurt!

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

I forgot about those guys. I've even been in their shop. They make badges for police and firefighters too. I'll hit them up with your reference and see if we can make this happen easier and less $$$.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

Spring is coming SO soon. Moab trip is less that 5 weeks away. Many local trips to follow. I'm getting really excited for this season. Time to break out of the snow and ice and have some adventures!
