Utah Club 2008 ideas

Hi Gang,

Spring is but a few months off. This is a great time to plan what we are going to do for or little "club" this year. I would like to make it a bit more structured so we have an official name and some goals. We of course will want to work with the U4WDA and donate some time to projects. Keeping trails open is extremely important to all of us. On the lighter side I'd also like to get us going with fun stuff, stickers, 4wd badges, and maybe some sponsership so we can have an event once year with a raffle and fun stuff. Camping or local bbqs and such would be fun as well. I am not at all tied to being the leader or anything so please don't think I'm doing anything but stepping up to help organize. I think this thread is needed to post up and get your ideas out there. Hope to hear from everyone.

Scott and Sara

I knew we weren't all hibernating . If your roof's icicles are like mine, all you can think of is Spring Holy cats, I've got one 3 feet across and it reaches the ground!

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

Count me in! I plan on talking to my buddy at Brent Brown to see if he would be able to sponsor an event. I'm sure the U4WDA would be more than happy to have us support them and vice versa. I know I've mentioned this in other threads, but I belonged to utahscions.com. We would meet monthly and I still frequent their meets and events. It always helps to have someone step up and make decisions and then everyone just go along with it, than to ask for opinions. So I would say, decide what we should do and we'll all go along with it. If it's lame and sucks, then someone else I'm sure will step up and plan something different. But then again, nothing with an FJ included can possibly be lame and suck right?

I would be happy to participate in cleaning up trails or whatever, organized events with UT FJers that maybe include some kind of exercise (a hike, biking, gathering trash, eating )

Its all good.

Exercise? I think a trip up to a ski resort would be rad! I frequent Sundance at least twice a week and think a Saturday get together would be cool.

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

I'm in for sure. Let me know what you need from me.

Thanks for stepping up Rat. I'm too new to Off-roading and FJ's and I'm also pretty nerdy so I wouldn't be taken seriously if I tried to organize anything myself. We can probably just kill the UT FJ Decal thread and transpose it here so all the organization is centralized. I'm down to clean up, hike, eat, talk, fix, attend Real SL games, frisbee golf or whatever (I've never golfed, frisbee or otherwise). I'm guessing we should start with an official name for the "club".
Like the emblems I proposed say, I like "UT cruisers" mainly because it doesn't exclude friends that may not be privileged enough to own an FJ. Also my Father-in-law got jealous of my rig when he test drove it and tried to outdo me and bought a crazy lifted re-geared wrangler, he might want to come along if he is invited. How exclusive are we?

Re: Utah Club 2008 ideas

Maybe something with Bonneville or Wasatch or Rocky Mountain (that would include John Denver and the state of CO?)
