Re: Colorado FJ's: Let's hit a trail in April

Thanks for that Athena
We can also use Dirtopia.com & traildamage.com as resources. I'm not sure which trails will be open that early, but are still scenic. I'd personally like to stay away from 'gulches' & really popular trails near boulder, they just get too busy.

Re: Colorado FJ's: Let's hit a trail in April

Like I said, I am open to either set of dates, a Sunday would be more ideal though. I work Friday night and get off at 7 Saturday morning. I would have to request time off for Friday to get some sleep before.

The 27th would probably be the best as it would give some more time for things to open up and the snow to melt, although I don't mind a good snow run. Some may not want that though (Leo) he's afraid he may have to use that shovel on his Gobi rack! J/K

Re: Colorado FJ's: Let's hit a trail in April

Going based upon what Trail Damage has to say, here's what I found that's either open year around, April-November or a bunch that were not specified.

I'm sure there's more, but I also stayed away from anything in Boulder County at Shane's request.

I am also not sure what difficulty level we are looking for either, they are all mixed in.

Leo, you are still trying to back over your ladder that on the back of your FJ. give it more gas you will get it.

We can try these as a last resort, not terribly fun, but better than nothing

Some of those may be too difficult for an early season run, and some will not be open (like Mosquito Pass).

Other than the Rampart Range system, there's not much close to Co Springs. The BV area is great, but again, not much will be open that early.

It looks to me like the Cascade Creek area may be the best. It appears that there are several trails which MAY be open this time of year.

This is right in Athena's back yard, so maybe she can scout it the week before to make sure it looks OK for us. Any other thoughts?

I really want to get involved but I need to get rid of my '20's and get new tires/steelies before I go
