I think staying married is more important, Argentine Pass will be there when you get back. You have a great gal there.

Question Re: Mark your calendars

For those of us (um, that's me) that still haven't bought an 'air-up' system...

It seems like this spot we're going on Sunday (Argentine Pass) is close enough to Downieville that we can probably drive [taking it easy] back there to air up after the trail run. Is that right, or will it be bad to go back there that far on I-70 aired down (now, I usually run 35 highway and 25 off-road)?

Re: Mark your calendars

actually you have to go through Georgetown to get there...and there's plenty of gas stations there if you are worried about it.... now if you want FREE air then you can mozy on back to the Downieville Conoco..

Ok, cool.
So, we're all good either way.

Thanks, Athena.

Re: Mark your calendars

You can run 20psi offroad and still run on the highway. I have seen many trail team vehicles with this set up with no problems. I mean don't take any extended road trips or anyting at 20psi, but getting to your next source of air is not a problem.

Re: Mark your calendars

Argentine does not usually require airing down.

Pretty tame trail unless the run-off is bad...

Ok, cool.
I thought so, based on what I've heard before, but I just wanted to make sure.

Ok.
Thanks.

Um...
so, is this true everyone?
If so, I'm kinda wondering why we're doing this one then.

Having said that though...
I have not really needed to be aired down on any run I've ever done yet (In fact, I only aired down for the first time on the Spring Creek run in May, and then again last weekend for the Miller Rock run).

It just seems like a smart thing to do sometimes (less wear and tear on the tread, less wear and tear on the trail, better grip going over rocks, etc), but are you saying that this one is so tame that it won't even help in those regards?

If so, I guess it will still be fun, just getting out there with everyone, but it doesn't sound like something that we should be as excited to have the trail team guys out for as I was thinking before.

...or are there some off-shoots with tougher obstacles that can give us a fix?

steven
