Re: Ellis Jeep Trail - June 28 or 29th

My thoughts.... MUD, Mountains, Camping. Having lived in Cosprings for 13 years, rampart, in my mind isnt"camping" enough. As for the gas... $0.2 more is what I have read it should peak, as usual around the fourth with another small jump around Labor day. Im looking at food for the event and for a two night 3.5 day event we are talking about $20 pp if we get 15 ppl to buy in. This aint no beans and weinies either. Pit lamb, ribs, pulled pork, breakfast for both moprnings, etc. I hope I can get some takers. I would hate to have to eat a whole lamb on my own. As for the camping area like I said earlier I think it should be a destination. someplace to get away from it all and take in all that CO has to Offer.

Sorry to do this, Robbie, but "a two night 3.5 day event"?
I'm not sure how that computes, but if you can make it work, I'll take it.
As a matter of fact, I might want to work that into all of my vacations.

Seriously though, I have the originally suggested weekend on the calendar (and JammerGirl arranged to hold off her flight to NewYork to make it for the whole event - no pressure though silly me).
If you change it though, we may be able to work it in. I very much want to be part of this weekend gathering.

Re: Ellis Jeep Trail - June 28 or 29th

I agree about Rampart, nothing destroys the camping atmosphere more than dirt bikes screaming up and down the camp sites. It was brought up though as there is enough area to house 15 or 20 rigs.

These were some suggestions when I asked on COTTORA where else we could go, there doesn't seem to be any interest though, everyone really wants to do Ellis later on. Me I have already got the time off for Ellis and wouldn't mind doing one of these.

TrailDamage.com - Grizzly Jeep Trail
TrailDamage.com - Transfer Trail
TrailDamage.com - Adams Lake

So Chef, would it be possible to move the three F weekend up so that peeps with kids could go, maybe run one of these and camp there.

Would that give you enough time to get the food? Which by the way my mouth is watering already.

The FJ Summit in Ouray is July 16-20th. Don't know how many folks who are attending that will want to drive to both events so close together.
