Re: Ellis Jeep Trail - June 28 or 29th

I think we'll have to sit this one out... we actually have commitments the weekend before and after so we feel we need to stay home for this weekend.... We'll catch up on another run I'm sure.

Re: Ellis Jeep Trail - June 28 or 29th

I might have a little schedule conflict. I might be teaching at the academy in GWS that Friday/Saturday, but am waiting to hear back. If I am, I'll have to catch up with you folks on Saturday night/Sunday morning (anyone want to run Ellis in the dark ) or I might offer an alternative run up Montezuma Basin/Pearl Pass

D@mn!
We'll be in Wisconsin for my wife's high school reunion.
Oh well. I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun up there too (fossil hunting in Michigan with a paleo buddy in that area on a couple days anyway).

I hope you guys have fun on this one, and we'll see some of you in Ouray a couple weeks later (and on the June 22 run first, of course).

Re: Ellis Jeep Trail - June 28 or 29th

Looks like we are going to postpone this run until sometime in August. Trail conditions up there aren't real good, I am gathering there is still a fair amount of snow up there and even in the event that it melts between now and then, there is some concern that 15 or 20 rigs running it will tear it up, which we don't want to do.
I will keep everyone posted on what we decide to do.

Re: Ellis Jeep Trail - June 28 or 29th

You could combine it with the 3F's weekend. Just a thought.

Re: Ellis Jeep Trail - June 28 or 29th

This is true, was there a place already picked out for the 3F weekend?

Something to consider though is it's going to be a hike to get up there for most of us and if what they are predicting is true that gas will be over $5 a gallon then this could get expensive.

Maybe we need to hit up some local gas stations for a group buy.

And why would we want to do that? I am kidding.

So when would be good?

And next where?

I was talking to Gavin awhile ago and mentioned camping at Rampart, but then we run into the quads and dirt bikes, unless there's a remote part they don't go to.
