Wheeling Around Havasu

I am thinking of buying a house in Lake Havasu. Does anyone live out there? What are some good trails? I would like to join up for some wheeling.

Regards, SSC

Re: Wheeling Around Havasu

I wheeled for years out there with my dad and his buddies. My dad built some homes around Havasu Landing years ago. Great place for wheeling. A lot of the old trails are now on BLM land and have been closed to off roading so you may want to check into that. There is still a lot of open areas to be had. Great bird hunting too. Good luck......Oh ya as I remember Indian Wells was a good run.

Re: Wheeling Around Havasu

Hi fred,
We are thinking of going for the change of colors. Hence, Sept is when we are thinking. Will you be able to come down to Ouray? I hope so.

Let me know when you are going to AZ and we can meet and run trails.

Tukes, Thanks for the info.

Regards, SSC

Re: Wheeling Around Havasu

Steve,

Way cool... I'm thinking of 2 pilgimmages to Ouray this year... I'd like to go early to see the epic snowpack and then yes, Sept when things mellow out some. Let's coord on dates, etc.

I'll let you know when I'm in 'Zona next... I'm totally swamped up through NAB in mid-April...

I usually fly to PHX since the drive is just too long and my time is well, non-existant. However, PHX National Rental Car rents Tacos & even FJs. They have no mods, but what the hey... Maybe I can ride shotgun with you on the more demanding stuff? I can bring high-quality camera & video gear...

Best to you & the Mrs. ...and the cat :-) ...

Re: Wheeling Around Havasu

the western part of arizona has some wonderful remote areas and you can run up either side of the colorado river and see cool stuff.
let google earth guide you and post up in the trail runs section on the azfj part or on azfj.org when you are ready to go...lots of us would like to check out the area with you.
