Thanks to the FJ Team for passing out the goodies, nice backpack, nice map book cover and a great Luminox watch (same one the U.S. Navy gives to the SEAL team members on graduation), that's where the thanks ends for them. Although I had a good time, I was very disappointed that neither one of the 2Team FJ's went on the alternate run for those of us without rock sliders. I understand that they wanted a little cooler day with more altitude, and that's why they chose not to do the Crown King trip, IT END UP AT THE SAME ALTITUDE...... Besides, we got A.C.!!!!! I feel as if the trip got highjacked by the more serious 4 wheelers that don't have A.C., although they said the Team FJ had asked for a more demanding trip, so.........
Sloyota led us on the alternate trail which was a good time, it had one pretty challenging climb, but nothing to get too excited about. I do have a couple of scratches from the brush that won't wax out, so I'll have to buff, no worries on that either. Thanks to everybody that came out. For those that ran the Desoto Run, I hope all is well and no body dings....
I apologize to anybody that is upset about their desert pinstriping, I got it too!! I always keep an immaculate vehicle, so I suffer with you.....
I am probably most upset at my fabricator for not delivering my sliders on time, jipping me out of the Desoto run, Oh well, everything happens for a reason..
It was great to meet some more people from the site, and also to see those that I already knew, it's the good people that make it fun... Krash, Offroad Rage, CDriver, Blue. And to everybody else, have a great day..
Blue, thanks for the Git er done sticker !!!!!!!!! It is now installed..
Please add some feed back, good, bad, indifferent. Talk about the FJ Trail Teams helpfulness (or not) on the trail, or even that arrogant butt muncher that was "In Charge". At very least, the scenery was beautiful as always in the AZ desert....
I was put off early on by Steve at the Chevron in Phoenix when I attempted to intruduce myself and offer assitance to help him with what was surely going to be a "LARGE" group. The rest of the day yielded much of the same attitude from him. Apparently he was "told" that he would be leading a small group of experienced LC owners and wheelers on this trail. I will make no excuse for him but when expecting 10 or so trucks and finding 50+ at your meeting point, it can be overwhelming. Regardless, I have made the decision that he is someone who I will probably not be wheeling with again anytime soon. Our styles of leadership and spotting conflict way too much. I wish him luck in is endeavors.

Does anyone know who Steve is or who he is associated with? I thought CSC was organising this trip with the FJ Cruiser Team. Apparently, that is not the case. Everyone that I met at the CSC meeting last month was very friendly. . . no arrogance, attitude, etc. Too bad CSC was not the primary sponsor for this trip. Sounds like it would have been much better, had you led it BMAN. Hearing these stories now I am glad that I couldn't go and my wife didn't go in my place.

Steve is associated with Yotatech and the forums there. He is also (as far as I know, please correct me if I am wrong) a member of the Arizona Land Cruiser Association.
I would have gladly led this trail but unfortunately I had never been on it in the past and it would have been a much longer day chasing me all over the back country as I tried to find my way out.
We had volunteered our services as a "club" to help out in any way needed. We were not however contacted to lend a hand so while our participation as a club was represented as "organizers" we were in the same boat as everyone else out there.
I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that something like this never happens again under the CSC banner.

Went on the alt trip and took some pics, not as many as I would like as I was driving. We hit some scree on the hills and did some sliding but does not show up in the pics. Had a great time, the CSC were very helpful and a great group. Have more pics but will have to put them in my photo folder if you wish to see them.
I finally was able to post some of pictures from this trip. See previous post on this or the other similar thread for details. Great break in trip for the FJ.
