Re: Custom Rock Rails, Arizona folks

Sounds good rage. I can wait. Would you PM me if it looks like it's good to go?

Thanks.

Re: Custom Rock Rails, Arizona folks

Trail Gear rock sliders, I got them in, powder coated and installed. Very nice quality, although very heavy, I should have weighed them, 50 to 60 lbs for the set? The gusseting makes them very solid.
Pics to follow, I gotta get a flat fixed tonight, but, when I get my centercaps back on the wheels tonight, I'll do pics. I am now done with the FJ. (I hope, and so does the wife) The FJ was loaded with every goody except the VIP alarm, so here's the rest of it.

I got the following mods:
-Revtek lift
-Aftermarket wheels and 285/75/16 Nitto Grapplers
-CB radio
-Front Dakar Bar with 4 lights
-Replaced all speakers (except sub)
-LED indicator lights in mirror (amber)
-Passenger arm rest
-Factory roof rack & skid plate and TRD exhaust (all 3 came with FJ)
-Airaid Cold Air Intake
-Air horns (probably my favorite mod)
-Trail Gear Rock Sliders
-And of course, Old Glory on the roof (with blue color matched to voodoo)

I think and hope I am done, not real interested in front bumper or winch, although very cool, don't need extra weight, as with a very capable 4x4, probably won't need it much, I got a 6,000lb come-along just in case.

Anyway, have a great day!!

Re: Custom Rock Rails, Arizona folks

Attilla you have been claiming for months that you'll post pix when your rig is done. Now make with the pictures already!

By the way Trail Gear isn't the company I was referring to but their rock rails are a nice possibility.

Re: Custom Rock Rails, Arizona folks

Here's the pics, it'll take a couple of posts to get them in

custom-rock-rails-arizona-folks-img_0616.jpgHere's the Trail Gear sliders

custom-rock-rails-arizona-folks-img_0617.jpgMB Motorsports wheels 16x8 (cheapos) and Nitto Grapplers 285/75/16's. I went to a 16" rim for more sidewall for wheelin, got cheap wheels for replacement purposes. I made the center caps from billet on a lathe and polished them at home with a buffing wheel, the centers that came with the wheels wouldn't fit over the factory hubs.

custom-rock-rails-arizona-folks-img_0619.jpgDakar light bar, 4 lights, switched at the dash, (2) of them are 55 watt and (2) are 100 watt.

Talking Re: Custom Rock Rails, Arizona folks

Here's the rest

custom-rock-rails-arizona-folks-img_0623.jpgMy new avatar

custom-rock-rails-arizona-folks-img_0622.jpgI got a RevTek lift, I wish the front end was 1" higher, it kinda sags

custom-rock-rails-arizona-folks-img_0621.jpgOld Glory, I'll get a better shot in a few days that shows the flag better and it will probably be my new avatar. The flag is color matched to VooDoo blue and Red, no white needed. I have kept the program and have lots of vinyl, if anyone is interested, I can cut more, although a very difficult install with the ribbed roof, it needs a "wet" install, if you are familiar with large decal installs, you'll know what that is.........

custom-rock-rails-arizona-folks-img_0620.jpgSide view of Dakar bar and lights

Happy wheelin'! See ya out there, and now you'll know who I am when you see me.
AZ peeps, let me know what you think....

They are from Trail Gear, one of the site's sponsors. $300 bucks delivered, plus you gotta get them powder coated. They are very heavy, extra gusseting makes them super tough.
I've made a few purchases there, they are a good group to do business with, they are nice, fair prices, and ship the same or next day. I'm REALLY burnt out on the "Hotrod Shop Mentality", you know, they treat you like you're a moron and they are too cool to deal with you, I'll spend double to not have to deal with any idiots. Trail Gear is a cool shop!!
