Hey, I should look in this folder more often!!!
I am definitely in as long as my FJ is repaired in time. I will be bringing my son 15, and possibly my daughter who is 11am.
Getting excited! Very cool of MoabRat for organizing this.
If my FJ is not repaired in time...I have a '97 Montero if I can get it licensed/inspected in time. Would that be ok for this run?
I'll bet it would be fine. There are some mild by Moab standards gullies and steps to climb at the first part of the run, but straight and flat for the last 2/3s. I'm so glad you're coming!
Re: Utah Cruisers Run: Great Salt Lake Ghost Towns, May 18th 2008
I've been trying to find a room in 'dover and they "claim" that they are all sold out (at least of the "reasonably priced non-smoking rooms) there are a few $uite$ available as of this posting and a few "smoking" rooms (the wife and son will not stay in a "smoking" room). Just FYI if you are waiting to try to get a room. Sometimes they open up on the day of your stay from cancellations or no-shows. We may just get up early and make the drive from SLC and save the $$$ for gas instead of wasting it on a room and gambling. See ya all at the Sinclair @9:00AM Sunday! Forecast looks great so far (of course it is Utah).

Scott and everybody else....I would love to join everyone on this run, however, sorry to say I'm going to have to miss this one, it is my turn to work this Sunday. If I can get out of working this Sunday I will post up and definitely join up for the ride.
Have a fun, safe trip and take some good photos. If you do get a chance make the side trip to the Spiral Jetty. I've been there before and it is very cool.

Hey Fly, it was the rear differential. It blew up on Fins and Things in Moab last weekend. Brent Brown Toyota has it, and I think it should be ready for the weekend.
ActionJackson, thank you for chiming in! I may take you up on that. I don't know if I will have time to go retrieve the Montero in Logan, but if I the dealer says he can't guarantee FJ by Friday, I may have to make the trip.
Smigette, don't be dissing the Monterothat car won the Dakar Rally (ok maybe slightly more modified than mine).

Re: Utah Cruisers Run: Great Salt Lake Ghost Towns, May 18th 2008
Since its mostly just gravel roads and such, I'll bet I can make the trip in my old toyota camry. I'll get some HDPE and make some skids just in case there's a bump or two!! But after looking at the pics from last year, looks like its not bad in the obstacles dept.
Re: Utah Cruisers Run: Great Salt Lake Ghost Towns, May 18th 2008
It is not looking like I will be able to make it this weekend. I really want to go but there is just way to much going on and with heading to Moab next weekend it just doesn't work.
I do have a question for you, Delray. What did your differential do when it went out? I went to Little Sahara last weekend. Mine drove fine but right before I left the entire vehicle started bouncing like crazy climbing a hill in
4H. It has drove fine since but it has not been back in 4 wheel drive. I am scared something is wrong but haven't had a chance to get it checked out.
