Hackett Gulch

It has been a while since I last went down this trail. The wife and I hiked up to the Rock. For the most part the trail is still easy as I remembered it. Then about 50 yards from the Rock the trail deteriorated considerably. In my opinion you would need 6 inches of lift and 35's plus lockers to get through this spot. You still have to deal with the Rock afterwards! Unless some serious help is given to fix up this part of the trail I doubt that it will ever be reopened. Which is too bad. It was a great trail! Anyway, not sure what the rest of the trail was like after that point. It may have had some bad spots going down to the river. I should have taken pictures to show all of you what the area looked like. Then compared them to the pictures that I have before the Hayman Fire. Maybe the next time we head down that way.
