Re: Skiing or Snowboarding???

Skiing... been doing it for 28 years now but I did snowboard for a few until there were too many. Now it's unique to drop in on a pipe with skiis and pump higher than the plankers. I mean no disrespect.. Just that skiing is more unique now and skiing without the ability to place a yard sale wherever you want just won't cut it

Snowboarding for me.

I used to ski but switched to snowboarding about 10 years ago and never looked back.

Re: Skiing or Snowboarding???

Skiing for me. I'd love to be able to snowboard but with broken wrists being one of the most common injuries I just can't risk it.

Snowboarding..
Skied for 25 years and my son got me to try snowboarding. Since I am close to Tahoe, I try to get 15-20 days on the slopes each year. After surfing for 35 years snowboarding came naturally. I dream about powder days on my 193 now..

Re: Skiing or Snowboarding???

Skied through high school and college (about 28yrs old) one day I just decided to become a boarder (mainly because my brother was and I thought it looked cooler). Went to the ski swap, changed all my gear and headed up to the mountain for what would be about a day or two of misery but I didn't give up (the snow was bad it was end of year snow). On day three it all started working for me, and I have never, and will never look back. I love the feeling of the frontside, backside lean - and what puts boarding over the top - POWDER! No comparison, it is like your on clouds - amazing. Here is my new board for 2010-11 snow season - yes, as said previously by a skier TWO EDGES RULE (skiers have 4 fyi).

Re: Skiing or Snowboarding???

I am 46 and just started snowboarding because my 12 year old daughter wanted to snowboard. I think it was the influence of Rocket Power that swayed her to snowboard. I do longboard too which really helped me.
