I do all of the above. I have:

1) Indy Fab Planet X Cross bike
2) On One Il Pomino Singlespeed cross bike
3) Van Dessel Country Road Bob (older style) fixed/singlespeed cross

I've been racing here in SF Bay Area this season but during the last race in Golden Gate Park, my calf "popped" during a run up over a barrier. I tried to run/ride it out but I was done, probably for the season. I'll know tomorrow after I get back on the bike.

our series here is pretty low key. Much nicer folks than the typical crit crowd. Racing is definitely a lung burner but it's cool that my races are 40 min or less. I can race on Sunday and still spend time w/ the family.

If you've never seen cross, here's some vids:

Hans Kellner Dot Com :: Cycling Videos

Back east are some good race series. Looks like season is almost done there, w/ the championships in RI.

Out here, we're just starting w/ rain...
thanks for the link.

Okay that looks awesome....I wanna do it

Re: Cyclocross Anyone?

Very fun. I'm still in C's (similar to Cat 4 or 5) after a few years but I really don't train that much. I do it more for the workout.

I think the best description that I heard is that it's like racing, feeling like your lungs are in your throat, head throbbing, heart about to burst and you're only on your 2nd lap.

It's perfect if you like to interval train. AND, if you're a great trail runner, you have an advantage because sometimes it's faster to run than ride.

Re: Cyclocross Anyone?

There was a big cross race in Sterling,MA last weekend. A lot of the big names in bike racing were there. Unfortunately, the season around here is short: starts in October and ends in mid December.
It is a huge sport in Europe. The Belgians are the best.
Like someone said earlier, 45 minutes of pure hell.

Check this link out.

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

I don't belong to MEMBA. I used to have a NORBA racing license, but that got real expensive so I stopped racing. $35.00 a wack to go beat on myself got a little old. I can find ways to beat on myself that are free.

in the city or offroad?
Off road.

I bought one and now I hardly ride my geared bike at all....

Something about the simplicity...
