BMW mountain bike

Christmas provided both a new FJ voodoo blue 4X4 MT and a new mountain bike. This bike is awesome. Good componentsShimano Alivio, continental tires, and airline one rims. The coolest thing is that the bike has a quick release and can be folded in half, which means I can load it transversely into the FJ and keep the back seats up.

Re: BMW mountain bike

how much did the bmw bike cost?

because the parts group on it isn't in the high range.

unless it's a classic and you have an interest similar to my bontrager addiction.

it isn't.

you need at least a deore or an LX/XT/XTR--or get a SRAM x.9/x.0--but i don't like SRAM fronts so i run XTR up front and an x.0 in the back on my cove.

Re: BMW mountain bike

I agree the Alivio is the high end of the low or medium range. The tires and rims are good though. The most important aspect to me is the frame. It is very light. Not sure of the exact weight but good frame. The quick release to fold the bike up is very novel, and I have never seen that before, and it is still very sturdy (no shakes or shimmy in the frame and slides together seamlessly and tight). Definitely a good scaffold to add onto. The bike sells for around $1200, but after a new BMW purchase, the price was lowered to $800. They can be purchased through a BMW dealership.

Re: BMW mountain bike

also you can notice that there is integrated wiring that runs through the inside of the frame. very cool in my opinion
