what part of FL? i grew up surfing the new smyrna side of ponce inlet. i'm stuck surfing the panhandle now though. not much happening here, although we did get some great wave last sunday.
East coast....usually around Spanny House or Picnic Tables. I feel your pain about the panhandle (went to FSU). Definently fires when it's right though...I go gulf side anytime there's a decent front or hurricane swell.

Re: surfing

For nearly 40 years now.
Surfed everyday for 20 years when I lived in north San Diego county. Now not so much since I have to drive to Santa Cruz, but I get a lot of days in snowboarding each year.
Currently have 4 surfboards and 5 snowboards for all the conditions.

Here's something else you guys should try Carveboard Sports - Carveboard skateboard training for surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding
I've had one of these boards for several years now, they are a total blast.

Re: surfing

I've been surfing about 4 years now. I learned on the east coast when I lived near Hilton Head Is. When I moved to San Diego I really got serious about it. I primarily longboard. I go at least once a week - even through the extremely harsh winters we get here =)

I couldn't get the long bars to move far enough forward for me to be comfortable using them to carry boards. Instead I reused my Saris rack that was on my car. They ratchet in and clamp right on the factory tubes. They look kinda cool because they elevate everything up higher than the stock rack. I'll post pictures soon.

Re: surfing

Been doing that for twenty some-odd years now. Got started when I first saw Mark Richards gettin' tubed on Pipeline. Went out and got an MR twin-fin and never looked back. Things have slowed down a bit since moving to Pensacola (even a long board won't do the trick here) but I still make it out to Jacksonville every few weeks for some rides.
