Re: This is why you don't shoot a moose in front of you

Guys, please realize that for every jerk hunter out there, there is probably 10 responsible hunters. There was nothing in that video that suggested he was shooting that animal for the heck of it. Yes it did run away, but if you've ever hunted with a bow, you know that almost every animal will run X distance and die. Most rifle kills are the same.

Try to relate this to the offroaders who do not the meaning of "Tread Lightly". Many blanket statements are made as a result of them but for the majority, it just isn't true.

i also dont agree with hunting just to hang something up on the wall. you better damn well eat it and use ever part of that animal you can. but that moose charging the guy was awesome.

I agree - I don't like blanket statements or generalizations about anyone - and I'm sure there are plenty of hunters on this site that (hopefully) do it in a more respectable way.

I'm just speaking on what I have personally seen - which is very wasteful and just sad....

You are correct. We can't paint all hunters with the same brush. Just isn't fair. My view is if you kill it to eat it then thats okay. That guy was very lucky indeed. If that rack had of gotten him he would have been launched.

Re: This is why you don't shoot a moose in front of you

Wow, I wasn’t trying to start a hunting debate. I use to hunt years ago, but lost interest in it
because I got tired of getting shot at. I will never tell someone they can’t hunt because I don’t
want to. Keep in mind, if the hunters aren’t out their controlling the population then you will be with the
front end of your vehicle.
The video just show’s how dumb people can be and how lucky the guy is that he walked a way.
I'm sure I can find a video of a moose killing a hunter for all of you anti hunters
