Re: Canyoneering in SoCal

How about Stoney Point on May 4th, Sunday morning at 9 AM for practicing. Unless it is taken I know a good spot to set up for short rappells.

Re: Canyoneering in SoCal

Brian (LBCAFJ) and I spent 3 hours Sunday morning practicing rapelling, starting with cautious and slow descents and gradually working up to the classic bouncy fast descents where the rope sings through the rappel device. We also switched between different devices: figure 8s and single and double tubed types.

The next session to be planned will be for techniques and tools for ascending ropes: TiBlocs, Prussiks, Ropemans and classic mechanical ascenders.
